@The_Lagrangian One of genes I think I have is related to folate processing. The hard part is that some people may have a mutation that means TOO MUCH B3 can cause the same problem. Interestingly, it acts on cholesterol, many women take a lot during pregnancy https://t.co/9jW71giDWB

TL;DR: they stuck acid up rat's butts and the mushroom helped maintain mucus lining and reduced the damage to their microbiome. WTF.

Wait... why does one of those links mention type 2 diabetes? Because I'm not looking at this from the lens of a disease, but as microbiome dysregulation... so i'm finding connections like this that many aren't going to make:https://t.co/Vw4Y2RyAs6

A paper on a direct link between a gene+microbiome causes seizures https://t.co/VJXZKl89wh that has previously been fingered in relationship between immune response and epilepsy. https://t.co/MWr8MTTr1YGuess: cbd oil helps regulate microbiome -> alleviating seizure symptoms?

I was looking up Niacin Flush effect & sensitivity (trying to find a gene or genes that makes people flush)... and found a study on schizophrenia that mentions the ingredients as the baby formula study.I wonder if this is the link to cholesterol somehow?https://t.co/RLlocvMhxj https://t.co/MM08ksOAfZ

Still can't find the specific genes, but apparently there is a lack of a flush response in schizophrenia that also shows in relatives without symptoms - suggesting a heritable component. https://t.co/NMlZGxs7Dv https://t.co/6etavLeEKa

Turns out the common vitamin form of Niacin in my Multivitamin (inositol niacinate) doesn't cause a flush response either regardless of etiology... and this means it is probably not any good as a Niacin vitamin supplement. Guess I'll have to get a more specific kind.

Thinking about it more deeply, this idea isn't just a hunch.I know for a fact that there's misinformation that has later been shown not to be 'purely' genetic, but microbiome based.https://t.co/rQQoZcqoxK

@AmandaChimera Hunch: Microbiomes seems to be a novel thing in science literature. Paradigm assumes genes are only heritable thing... But we also pass on our microbiome. If they're framing the problem wrong it explains why there is low level noise about epigenetics many scientists discount.
