"keep your friends close, but your enemies closer" -> learning from those you despise, literal adversarial networks? https://t.co/Dn9smEgL73

Is schadenfreude quirk rooted in social forces in learning from others? Gloating as social contagion? huh.https://t.co/aMsRnYQcxi

I've never done envy or jealousy. I've wanted things, but never focused it on people or social relationships. 100% outside my worldview.

I think I need to understand jealousy. Perhaps it plays a bigger role in swarm cognition than I thought. I wonder how it manifests at scale.

Are you jealous of those in power - those higher up in the "food chain", or otherwise above in whatever hierarchy you find yourself within?

Whoa: Viewing my failed/negative social interaction as result of allistic projections of jealous behavioral stance: Mind Blowing Blindspot.

A childhood suffering from mean spirited behavior from envious peers? No wonder I isolated, avoided hierarchy, and was bewildered+stressed.

And the constant confusion of being told I was being selfish, rude, and acting out - That makes sense now: they thought it was envy driven.

Envy, and schadenfreude (laughing at misfortune), seems to be implicated in behavior related to hierarchical power?https://t.co/XK63SDYpfK https://t.co/ZqodFP1tsJ

Interesting parallel to consider theory of mind / "developmental delays" in children when discussing 'laughter':https://t.co/CmFyhMvA5M https://t.co/oN89GomFzQ

FYI: Schadenfreude effect is experienced as result of envy, not a feeling of righteous revenge. "Getting what they had coming" is not envy.

Schadenfreude is rooted in equality via envy or jealousy. Also, social science is basically systematized trolling.https://t.co/lZxtSdjmYg https://t.co/HQeGy0mNvV

Seriously though: Every time I look up "autism + schadenfreude" related discussions, many are confusing it to competitive gloating or honor.

A joy from feeling your enemy/competitor crushed under your feet is not the same feeling as the joy of seeing your peers took down a peg.

Changes in brain that lead to a lack of envy seems quite common across a large range of disorders, not just autism?https://t.co/PEAWpGiMqt
