Our landlord evicted us so they could renovate the property and charge way more for the place than we were paying (and we were paying a lot).Beyond frustrating.

Thankfully the reason we moved (to help GF's health issue) has been mostly resolved, so she'll be able to move back home for a while without worrying about her dying. https://t.co/j1NetWKdJz

Happy with the decisions to move. Her flair ups already much more under control and I've been able to cook for her and make healthy foods. :3https://t.co/oaVsi32YH0

That living situation was miserable for me, and we wouldn't be able to do Project Viril from the tiny space I'd have. But we can't get a 12month lease with what we had budgeted... What to do?

Well, we made a joke about Panic-buying a bus.Long story short: so Praetor Labs is now operating out of bus as of tonight!

By sheer luck: first entry we found on Craigslist was a pre-gutted Shortbus. For about 30% of what I would have expected to pay for a used one. The guy was using it to haul wood and didn't have space.

The 'lab space' is 13' 3" long, 7' 6" wide, and 6' 2" tall. It's going to be an interesting challenge to fit all the hackerbase things in this small space, but doable. https://t.co/mlhimE4OaF

The neat thing about a bus like this is it's basically a moving truck with a funny opening in the back. The next few weeks will be focused on moving GF and putting some stuff in storage.

If things go as planned, we'll be aiming for mid November to have a somewhat insulated bus with some 3d printers set up on a shelf. https://t.co/636VHzrLXs

It's a downgrade on our current situation, so we're kinda sad. But the freedom we'll have moving forward will more than make up for it.

the stuff you joke about (even ironically or whatever) has a way of shaping your reality so be careful and deliberate with that stuff. a lot of people out here fumbling their own bags by joking about outcomes they don’t want. you might as well joke about the outcomes you do want

Me and @nsreed had a fun grueling day of moving heavy things. We even made really sketchy ramp to help move stuff like a bed and an extremely heavy laptop cart. https://t.co/P9BfDotGri

Project isn't dead. The bus's transmission broke... Then we ran issues with getting power to the garage to run the printers / heater. But now it is warm enough to work on things outside we're activating our contingency plan: a 16ft Trailer. https://t.co/MkJHdLeveP

We made it pretty. Then uglified it to seal the gaps they didn't weld. The sealant was originally meant for the bus, so it was white. Oh well. https://t.co/pGbEXPEip0

We finally figured out a viable way to afford a roof and walls thanks to a good deal from Harbor Freight. As an added bonus we can use one of the canopies to work on the thing in the rain / sun.https://t.co/ogjuJ04LOi https://t.co/I6p8k1VFcN

Only thing we need to buy now are some cut-off blades for the grinder and all the insulation we need for the roof. The lack of progress is mostly due to not being able to get material together.
