Instead of getting an N95+ mask. Consider instead spending that $ on a box fan and some air filters. Improving the air quality in your home may do more to improve your chances of survival than wearing a mask.https://t.co/xBj9nbdrSM

As its a crystallization process, there may be a sweet spot where the salt is most effective. Still trying to figure out how much to concentrate the salt. Not sure if the surfactant type matters, but it says the material became hydrophyllic as a result.

Soaking some of those central air filters in a salt solution overnight ought to do the trick in a DIY mask situation. The hydrophobic thing is for the waterproof masks. In the situation that we have a severe pandemic and we need more hands to help, every little bit counts.

Loosely speaking, air flow is about surface area, this is why filters are folded IIRC. But filter effectiveness seems to be about thickness and material structure. So basically, virus droplet has to make it thru a gauntlet of fibers without hitting one / getting adhered.

But you lost me at "Lagrangian Modelling of Droplet Collisions in Spraying Systems"https://t.co/dIxQSrDjKpSo I assume a thicker filter = higher chance of stopping droplets. So, folding it in half to double it up should work just fine as long as it's big enough for airflow.

Figuring out how garlic, hot peper, ginger, horseradish and vinegar work to stop coughing is the same pathway that reverse scar tissue and helps fight inflammation in Crohn's disease.
