1. still waiting for an app or site that does this really well. it doesn't make sense to me that idle time waiting in queues, etc can't be better spent pruning and updating tasks more intuitively and obviously than currently possible https://t.co/CiBUiOS0ZW

There should be a mode for going through emails, todos and calendar appointments etc the way we go through Tinder or Imgur. More intuitive.

2. my answer to "what should twitter do next" in 2016 turned out to be exactly what they did, nice. in 2018 I would like to say, please make bigger and better inroads into the harassment and abuse problem(s) https://t.co/YbsrJNC6BF

@lakey generally I'd say pay attention to what users are already trying to do. Make it easier to do tweetstorms &or allow for expanded chars

3. still waiting. basically something that takes a conversation that you have with someone and makes it super easy for you to turn it into a shared doc or a blogpost without all the tedium. Actually I've started doing this manually with some chats https://t.co/uHDDjO4k4r

I wish there was something in the space between IM and collaborative text editing. Is there already something?

4. ever since I observed this phenomenon I'm realizing it's a very persistent problem, a trap that's very easy to fall into. there's an interesting paradox(?) where we're *impulsive* + yet living mostly either in an imagined past or future rather than now https://t.co/KmcMoDjHg1

I wonder if anyone relates to this: it sometimes seems my brain holds on to things I USED to care about more than what I care about now

5. I forgot that it ever occurred to me to frame it this way, but it's true! (meta: it's worth writing down thoughts because sometimes you have unusually good hits that you can't reliably/consistently get – but being able to re-reference them is powerful) https://t.co/WeOGohP0EQ

What I find almost ecstatically exciting is the idea that if you have a deep understanding of how/why words work, you can think new thoughts

6. one of my "the emperor is naked" thoughts is that SG doesn't have a censorship problem, it has an idiot problem. I used to criticize the government all the time and never got in trouble for it. You mostly just gotta avoid baseless accusations https://t.co/zuiBTLaoO7

7/ PERSONALLY, I don't think I've ever felt censored. I've criticized the Government, etc multiple times. But my experience is limited, ofc.

One of my fantasies/goals is to earn the right to have enough quality followers that I can get interesting responses to anything I ask.

Something I find challenging to this day is distinguishing between "I want this" and "I want to want this".

a hard but useful exercise: to dig into cliches and find out what the fundamental insight really is, and why it's worth saying/remembering

12. "a wolf in bro's clothing" is the kind of lovely phrase that I can never come up with intentionally; only accidentally in conversation or while pursuing something else. it's funny how much of writing is just... noticing what's good https://t.co/oirF6fGDik

.@vgr A bro is a support character more than a protagonist. Mercutio was a bro. Bassanio was a bro. Iago was a wolf in bro's clothing.

I feel like there should be a better way to talk about stereotypically dark and cliche things without coming across as cynical

It's hilarious that in 2016 I still haven't developed a working system of managing information/inputs that I personally am satisfied with

How long have we spent in the past ~5 years in passionate arguments that ultimately amounted to nothing? What could've we done w that time?
