I wonder if anyone relates to this: it sometimes seems my brain holds on to things I USED to care about more than what I care about now
It could be a perception thing- things I used to care abt are like dirty splotches on my windscreen, keeping me from full immersion in Now
If this is accurate, I imagine meditation compounds in utility as you get older. More old-states to shake off. "Now" is surprisingly hard.
Inner dialogue: "What do U care about?" "Well, when I was a kid..." "No, what do U care about?" "Well, judging by the books on my shelf..."
