@OrwellNGoode This is what peak performance looks like
@EdwardGLuce @Ayaan Do you recognize the sovereignty of a people to make their own choices as to whether they wish to accept migration at all? If so, why do you disregard the British public’s clear rejection of these policies? If not, how can you call yourself a defender of democracy?
Thanks goes first and foremost to our community — our community members rock! #holochain #crypto #blockchain #ethereum @holochain @H_O_L_O_ @HoloIslandNews @HoloCitizen https://t.co/TjrbkrAYmx
It took Felipe Ribeiro just 4 nights to create a basic decentralized Zoom ("Doom") on @holochain, and 80% of that was frontend work... 🤯🤯🤯 Join DEV.HC today and find out what you can build in a couple of hours! https://t.co/nM2c7g6XV2 https://t.co/Vcfvvz7gLK
@Klaus_Arminius Stop calling them immigrants. They are invaders. Language matters because misperception kills.

This is sad... Let's do something against it - I love the concept of the Plastic @PlasticBank. Real entrepreneurship https://t.co/yMhuxNnqLs

Kind of cool that they give @holochain its own category https://t.co/vAVvW6Tvx2
Also, @artbrock and @joshmzemel recently published their perspective on blockchain at large from the vantage point of @holochain: https://t.co/4BZ5OTqczC Well worth reading!

@vgr I think I found it on Facebook last year, but can't find it there. Taking it from the presentation now, here you go https://t.co/6gBYLbrj7h
@cbobrush @ThomasSowell How does your wife’s case disprove the rule?
Happy #HoloMonday from @artbrock and I at the #RefiUnconference at the @CCommonsHub! https://t.co/D2ketLBCOH
@surplustakes Why is it bad that people like to live around people that look, think, act like them? Sounds racist to deny the Pakistanis, Chinese, or other ethnic groups the joys of being among their own. For whites it’s of course racist as must be destroyed (that’s what you mean right?).
For #HoloMonday I'd like to invite those of you who want to show your membership in the @holochain community to add a ".hc" to the end of your profile name. I'm now "bierlingm.hc", and you? (btw an ENS-like app for the Holochain world is coming, but shhhh 🤫)
There's now a minimally viable Reddit clone in @Holochain land and it's called herddit. See you on there? P.S.: Happy #HoloMonday ! https://t.co/Ni03mcnKsA

I was on a call w/ @artbrock and @zippy314 earlier and asked them about how far back @holochain and their descriptions of it go. This document, "Design for a Meta Currency Platform", is from March 26th, 2009!!! https://t.co/nT31G1qcf5
@holoalpaca @everkleij @everkleij created a HoloPort Virtual Machine configuration and got it to connect to the Holo network successfully — we’re doing some more testing and then decide in coordination with @H_O_L_O_ how best to bring this to the community.

@postjawline Wrong frame. Don't ask what the AI can do you that you can't. Ask what you can do with the help of AI, better than the AI can on its own. That's all you need to be valuable.
This platform is a notes app with a social graph attached. Unfortunately it’s not built for self- or mutual sovereignty—yet, but probably won’t ever. That’s where mewsfeed comes in, a microblogging @Holochain app (also) hosted on the @H_O_L_O_ alpha network. Follow for more on this over the coming days as our team gears up for early and then public release. Sign up on the website to be notified for early release: https://t.co/YIIuGvW3Da
People don’t even know what’s coming down the pipeline. We WILL have our private, secure, distributed web and there’s nothing the powers that be out there can do about it. I view the @ad4m_layer as one of, if not THE KEY to this. It’s the best decentralized embodiment I’ve seen yet of the pattern I first heard @matthewjosef describe something like this: “You want lots and lots of people to try a bunch of things at the edges, and then you want to have their learnings feed back into the knowledge of the collective.” The ADAM layer, @flux_social, and @coasys_dao all operate on this principle. Every time there’s a developer or a community that builds a new “language”, as we call them, they can immediately start using it. But what’s even better is that others can encounter them using that language and then one click install the language IN PLACE! Do you know how crazy that is? Do you understand what this means? It means that network lock-in is no longer an issue. It means that this grows, mutates, adapts, LEARNS at the speed of human thought. And all you have to do to get on your way toward this reality is give these guys a follow, and then reply below what cool things you want to use it for, build with it, or experience there. I’ll help you make it happen!
@Sargon_of_Akkad Lindsay is stuck in a perpetual “gotcha” posture, the quintessential “new atheist” teenage attitude to “catch you out” in surface level logical contradiction. Why? Anglo intuition: islands are easy to defend, so they universalize their luxury of cheap freedom to everything.
I don't think I'm wrong when I say that MewsFeed is the first true social network on @Holochain. Watch: https://t.co/Te9NEfFb8u Install: https://t.co/ysSNNYx0DK Follow: @bierlingm Shortly, @artbrock will publish his article on the vision behind MewsFeed and so will I.

Set a reminder for my upcoming Space with @artbrock, founder of @Holochain, @H_O_L_O_, and @metacurrency, as well as my co-steward of MewsFeed, our Holochain-based micro-blogging platform! We’ll be talking about the launch of the platform and how to solve the hard problems social media faces. And not just technically but also socially, psychologically, and economically. If you go to mewsfeed dot social you can already sign up now to be notified of our alpha release around the same time as this Space. We’re putting the finishing touches on the multiple ways you can run MewsFeed (Holo-hosted, standalone app, or running in the Holochain Launcher) and would love to have you ask us questions on Tuesday, and afterwards try one out and give us feedback! Make sure to set the reminder for the space and tune in next Tuesday! #HoloHost #Holochain #socialmedia https://t.co/qQn6G1kyeN
We like using a lot of big words because we’re nerds, but ultimately the message is very simple: Take back the internet. ACTION-ORIENTED REQUEST 1. Who do you know that is credibly fighting this, inside and/or outside the political process? 2. What is the single easiest concrete action the average person reading this can take to contribute to the fight against this?
A Grand Campaign of Remoralization We live in a world of rapid evolution, of change so profound and systemic that it often outpaces our ability to grasp its impact fully. Our technological advances outstripped our philosophical and ethical frameworks long ago and we have yet to grasp the full scope of these transformations, or to lay out comprehensive strategies for navigating them with integrity and purpose. We find ourselves in a time when questions of morality, of what it means to lead an ethical life, are not merely abstract philosophical quandaries, but urgent practical necessities. For each of us, a struggle with these questions on a personal level must form the backbone of a larger shared pursuit – what I want to call a grand campaign of remoralization – that we all need to engage in, and better sooner rather than later. Too often in this perpetually new normal, power is wielded without accountability, influence is exerted without wisdom, and advantage is accrued without responsibility. We see forces at work that, while not necessarily intrinsically malicious, nonetheless have the potential to cause harm not only to those they wish to influence or attack, but also to the very foundations of humanity's collective capital making large scale cooperation possible in the first place. In our connected society, the internet has opened up vast domains of knowledge and potential for growth, both in the economic and moral sense. Yet, in some corners, it's become a breeding ground not merely for simple self-interest but an active disregard for the impulse to construct, to build up, to create the commons that better everyone's lives. From shadowy corporations exploiting our digital footprints for profit to ideologically driven collectives hijacking public discourses without even a shred of interest in reciprocal exchange, the challenges are manifold. We are faced with the wide open frontier of digitally based neuroprogramming, with its potential to reshape our minds and hearts and our very being in ways we're just beginning to understand. Yet, it is crucial that we not succumb to despair or cynicism. For in this landscape, there is also extraordinary potential for competence, for calm, for the cultivation of a much less fragile and still highly connected culture capable of daring feats as grand as or even eclipsing "the man on the moon". This is not a fight against a single person, policy, or political party, but rather a struggle for the soul of our digital civilization and the separate nations it houses. You are not powerless. You are not voiceless. You can make choices. You can take actions. Each one of us, in our unique way, may not yet be but very much so can still become a player in this grand campaign of remoralization. It starts with awareness, with recognizing the forces at work, with understanding the implications of our digital behaviors, and with an open and critical examination of the kinds of people we must be and the kinds of responsibilities we must shoulder that can hold up a free, productive, and lawful internet, and with it a world that relies on this kind of internet to demonstrate the very same properties in the world of atoms. We can start by rejecting the idea that the digital domain is a realm devoid of morality, law, and accountability. Like any other commons, it is constructed through shared effort and it will be sustained the same way. We must make it afford for the full spectrum of qualities that the physical world affords its biological inhabitants: sustenance, feedback, give & take, friend & foe, freedom & folly, anonymity & accountability, excellence & egalitarianism, king & country, and the rest of that other kind of diversity so critical to a functioning ecosystem of organisms pursuing their ends and testing their means. We must also cultivate antifragility, digital hygiene, and an internal compass to guide us amid the dizzying whirl of information, disinformation, and misinformation. We must arm ourselves with critical thinking, with skepticism towards simplistic narratives, with an unquenchable thirst for truth and the skill to demand and reveal it wherever we turn. Finally, we need to hold those with power and influence accountable. From corporate entities to collectives and individuals who shape our digital experiences, it's up to us to not just insist on transparency, integrity, and respect for our rights as digital citizens, but to create, use, and defend the means that guarantee us this experience. This grand campaign of remoralization is not a battle to be won in a day, a month, or even a year. It's an ongoing process, a journey, a marathon without end rather than a sprint with a finish line within reach. It requires patience, perseverance, and a deep-seated knowledge of the mechanics of and limits to the construction of a global computational commons. But it's a journey we need to embark on, a campaign we need to join, for the sake of our individual and collective futures worth sacrificing for. The call isn't to be heroes; it's to commit yourself to the eternal battle for the best that each moment holds, to muster the courage to say something when you see something, to take responsibility for what is within your influence and to aim at the growth of what you can reasonably demonstrate responsibility for. So, join this grand campaign. Not because you've been called out, but because you recognize the necessity of the fight. Because you know that "Nature and Nature's God works in mysterious ways" and that its favorite tool is us. "Our acts our angels are, or good or ill, Our fatal shadows that walk by us still." ~ John Fletcher Let's put our collective shoulder to the wheel and set the digital sphere onto a path that respects our humanity and reflects our better angels.
Don't Aim For Succeeding, Just Feel (And Then Harness) The Feeling Hey, you! Yes, you! You Weirdo-Nerd-That-Knows-Important-Things-Normies-Don't. How are you doing? I hope you're having the time of your life, but in case you're not... Why do you think that is? It's clearly not because the means aren't available. I mean, hello? Infinite, instant, free knowledge at your fingertips? The distilled essence of humanity's textual productions come alive as AI? And you're just.... doomscrolling? Screaming into the void? Lounging on your couch listening to Joe Rogan interview another feel good non mainstream smart guy? Or perhaps you're Building A Second Brain™, traveling the world as a Digital Nomad™, or even maximizing MRR as Quirky Indie Creator SaaS Guy™. Might I suggest that maybe, just maybe, you don't need a new note-taking tool or productivity system? And do you really think yet another podcast episode or YouTube video will do the trick? Have you tried using that impulse, that need for stimulation for a pause? For something other than living a templated identity? Have you ever taken a moment and considered what common thread unites all of these attempts to diffuse The Feeling? And don't you dare say "lack of discipline" or some other not-even-wrong influencer BS like that. If you have an answer you're satisfied with, an answer that does not feel forced or false, congrats! If you don't... I'd say you're avoiding feeling The Feeling. That feeling you feel when your heart beats faster, when things that matter intrude upon your cozy clumsiness. It probably scares you, and no wonder. You've been pushing it away for so long, avoiding pausing even for a moment. You're not prepared to withstand the onslaught of anguish and regret that will wash over you. And yet, delaying and diffusing The Feeling isn't working out either, is it? Everything feels a little numb, meaningless, and soul-suckingly boring, right? Alright, let's try this: Write down a single sentence that encapsulates your mission in life. Have you? There's no rush, I'll wait. Got it? Good. Now rip it up and throw it away. Do it again, but this time take a minute or two to do nothing but to pay attention to what's going on inside. It may take a while, again, don't rush it. If you allow it, eventually the murky waters of your psyche will clear up just a tiny little bit. Enough to reveal something you actually care about, and deeply. Write that thing down and then put it an active sentence, like "I want my mom to finally be at ease about my career", or whatever it is for you. Now rip that sentence from the page and put it somewhere you return to often. It could be your wallet, your bedroom door, your laptop monitor bezel... You know where it needs to go, don't overthink it. Now, how do you feel? Notice anything? If you did it right, you felt The Feeling. That feeling we all know but don't know how to describe very well. If you can, stay with The Feeling for as long as you can and write down anything and everything that comes to mind, to heart, to soul. You'll know when it comes from that place, and when it's just a programmed, imprinted, manufactured opinion. The Feeling isn't political. It doesn't have opinions and it needs no validation. The Feeling doesn't need you to convince anyone. All it asks of you is just a sliver of your attention. If you grant it that, it'll repay you manifold, and in ways your conscious mind can't calculate. Whatever comes out of you when you feel it, treasure it. Don't tell anyone about it. And don't research it either, or at least not until you have a working relationship with it. Just hold it, and let it animate you into curiosity. Let it drive you into the depths of your inner world so you may find untold riches where you least expected them. If you made the trip... If you got to that inner sanctum, or at least noticed its presence... I'd like to invite you to reach out and tell me what state that left you in. Don't tell what it was, just what state it left you in after it subsided. There are so many paths to take once the starting point is clear... For instance... What if you did it again next time you remembered that writing these things down is an option? What if you kept a record of all the different things you wrote down when The Feeling visits you? What if you burned the current piece of paper as soon as a new one arose out of you and leapt onto the page? What if you wove them together with string and hung them on your wall as a "soulchain"? What if you came up with your own process, your own program, your own practice? That is what I've been studying for the past 15 years and it is also the subject of my upcoming book: Rediscovering, reconnecting with, and ultimately harnessing That Feeling. For the benefit of yourself and whatever The Feeling inspires you to overflow your cup into. If you want to be notified of the release, subscribe to my Substack and I'll let you know when you're ready for it. And again: if you didn't get to The Feeling, you're welcome to DM me and I'll be happy to help you try a different way that works for you.

I recently had one of my closest friends visit me to reconnect after a good year of pause in our friendship. He needed the time to examine all areas of his life, including the relationships he holds most dear. The distance helped him gain clarity on who he is outside of those relationships, and enabled him to re-enter them with sovereignty in light of that new clarity – or to leave them entirely. When I look around, the relational poverty on display especially on social media – which is used to escape the burden of addressing this poverty (me included) – does make me sad sometimes, and immensely grateful for what I consider to be one of my greatest assets: deep and enduring friendships. The kind of friendships that can withstand disagreement, distance, and dissatisfaction, simply because there exists a willingness within each party to do the work that is uniquely theirs to do, and to lend a hand where the other's steps falter. Earlier this year I celebrated my 30th birthday in the presence of some of my closest friends as well as my mother visiting me in this place I live far away from home. I truly enjoyed bringing together the threads of family and friends, which up to that point had stayed largely separate features of my adult life. In reflecting on this transition, I recognize my 20s as a long decade of discovery, exploration, travel, novelty, stimulation, and whatever other words to use to describe the general pattern of opening up to and experiencing all that the world has to offer. Conversely, I am dedicating my 30s to the general pattern of focusing, building, solidifying, and settling into what is already present in my life, be that relationships, places, identity, craft, and so on. There are general arcs to life, and wisdom consists of the proper calibration of our response to the vagaries and joys of life. Or how I put it the end of a long hike while slowly walking into the Mediterranean Sea this Sunday, "the travails of a nervous system in tuning". The older I get and the more experience I amass, the more I recognize that these general arcs are actually a critical feature of pursuing and then actually constructing a life well lived. Yes, the scripts are there to be thrown away, subverted, reinvented, and rebelled against. We wouldn't know their value in the absence of our own "trial by combat" in the arena of life. And yet, living a life without any patterns tends to end up in a descending spiral of chaos and wasted effort as we're pulled apart by an incoherent jumble of drives and desires. I know because I've given expression to my own drive for discovery to the extreme, taking me to the strangest of places and putting me in the company of questionable travelers along sections of the road less traveled to those places. I've let my desires for recognition, status, companionship, stimulation, and opportunity take me to soaring heights of joy and complete flow, only to plunge me into the depths of utter depression as I burnt up my health, disregarded warnings, and pushed through boundaries better left in place. Life no longer presents a blank canvas to me. Instead, there is a small but growing set of paintings in my collection, each with a different combination of styles, themes, motifs, characters, and motivations behind their creation. They all have their place in the arc of my art, and yet some are clearly (and objectively) better than others. What matters most to me though is that I am arriving into the kind of calm that will withstand the crying child, an absence of income, the death of a parent, or the immolation of a worldview in the face of radical change. Increasingly, as the nervous system within and the network of relationships inclusive of me experience said tuning, my mind assumes its proper role as an executor of specific tasks, or a temperer of incoherent impulses, but it certainly no longer runs an authoritarian state against the constituents in his kingdom and their representatives in his court. That kind of calm can only come into being at the long end of a competence hard won in costly experience, and the kind of faith in the possibility and worthwhileness of the good (on the other side of said experience) that comes as a gift given by the examples of personal courage I've witnessed in my parents, extended family, friends, associates, and of course the greats that transcend the ages or live in ours. Money matters, and most must make some to join the ranks of self-determined agents of their own interests, which I certainly count myself among. And yet, it has never truly been a great enough motivator of mine to throw integrity to the wind entirely, although I recognize that as more a luxury of circumstance on my part than the fruits of a labor I've heroically resigned myself to. Now that I'm starting to dip my toes, nay, plunge! into the realities of building what I intend to be a serious relationship with the aim of a family in mind, I feel immense gratitude to those that came before me and those that still walk by my side. I know that I've not always made it easy to call me a "jolly good fellow traveler", mostly thanks to the less well lit or truly dark paths I've felt it my duty to expose myself to. And although I allow room for the recognition that my own motives may not always be transparent even to myself, and although I thusly must allow for the possibility of the truly dark to live amongst the brighter ones – as all honest people must –, I nevertheless work to warrant my words, be deserving of investment, take responsibility for the load that is mine to carry, and to aim high in sight, spirit, and soul. Thanks to those among you who feel and demonstrate a kinship to the above. You know who you are. And if there comes a day that you "smell something strange" in my actions or their effects, I trust that you grant me the privilege of raising this concern with me directly, if of course you feel called to do so. Especially in this time of generative text, image, sound, and soon digital activity of any other sort, I believe this due diligence to join an increasingly important regimen of digital hygiene habits and a cornerstone of psychosecurity on an individual and collective level. Conversely, should you experience distress or need and your other avenues of redress desert you, I promise to at least hear your case (if I can authenticate your identity to my satisfaction) and direct whatever available energy I deem appropriate in your favor. From Barcelona with love, Moritz

When I started explaining Holochain to people in 2017, I could not imagine all the types of projects that it would enable, but a messaging application with greater privacy definitely was among them. Kizuna is that. https://t.co/MhBa3Hf9eh
I'm calling it early: Amir Taaki's #DarkFi manifesto will become a seminal text in crypto history. It will spawn a necessary counterweight to the partially naive #BUIDL ethos currently being domesticated by power and capital and turned into #RegFi. https://t.co/DDi7U7cFZw
The people most likely to start using a technology like #holochain are clearly those that have a strong need for something that only that technology can deliver. The image below makes me think that data sovereignty, or "Own Your Data", is chief among them. What do you think? https://t.co/Pha5M3dniI

@GnosisWolf @MarioNawfal It's not a mind virus with these people. It is pure, unadulterated ethnic hatred. These people want to kill you, rape your women & children, and take your stuff. For now, your numbers prevent that, but not for much longer.
There is a recognition that has yet to occur among the majority of citizens in Western nations: We are at war. The consequent psychological switch then is to: 1. withdraw support for our governments, 2. grieve the loss of a society in which we can reasonably expect our representatives to competently and honestly do their job, and 3. create and demand solutions from anyone discussing issues such as the one below. We must shift the economics of effort in battles like these. Every bit of glucose spent on cognitive effort to persuade an opponent that does not care for truth, beauty, and goodness is wasted. I see too many of the good guys being held back by the longing for a peace that is no longer possible.

Wow, there's a @Patreon competitor out there called @comraderycoop that's cooperatively owned, operated, and governed as well as charging lower prices and sporting a great aesthetic on their website – kudos!
Just to make sure you understand what is happening here… See how that website opens up into a profile creation screen? That’s actually locally generated data that this web UI is loading, displaying, and manipulating. See the channels the user can jump into? Anyone can create new channel types and permissionlessly use and share them in their communities. Do you understand what this means? What you’re looking at here is the kernel of a self-expanding distributed web. A new digital frontier where everybody gets to homestead their own plot, construct their own structures, and invite others to join them. Network state? No problem, sir, right this way. Regen DAO? Absolutely, here’s your infrastructure. What about a neighborhood watch, international NGO, scientific study, art collective? Coming right up! And to think that people are sleeping on this… ts ts ts

With each passing day, I appreciate the wisdom contained in the theological frame more. It took me a long time to access that wisdom, to interpret the language it’s contained within, and translate that language into clear and scientifically informed understanding. Demons, the soul, love, a higher power, moral commandments — they all speak to aspects of the human experience and enterprise not easily or comprehensively addressed in the disciplines we’d otherwise draw on for guidance. How has your relationship with the divine and its many purported representatives evolved?

Let's science anarchism. You know how states are defined as the monopoly on the legitimate use of violence? Well, if you want anarchism you have to open up that monopoly to the market for legitimate use of violence. In the States, they already do this to an extent: the 2nd amendment guarantees your right to bear arms for the express purpose of resisting tyranny. A beautiful byproduct of that right is that you can also use it for self-defense, at least in a good number states (at present), and perhaps in all of them soon once the state-level restrictions of this right have been successfully challenged. In any case, what does it take to sustainably open up the monopoly of violence to the market? You have to somehow create a large enough portion of the population, preferably the vast majority, that can not only judge when the use of force is lawful but also actually apply it. So, what does it take to do that? Perfect judgment. In other words, decidability. Who teaches you perfect judgment? Who practices decidability? We do. Us at the Natural Law Institute. No one else in the world does. So if you want to reach a world without rulers, your path to it runs through the science of decidability. Because where miscalculations, misunderstandings, mistakes in judgment occur, conflict follows. And conflict, if deprived of other means to resolve it, always is ultimately resolved by violence. Whether you like it or not. No (ultimate) rulers really means universally distributed and perfectly capable judges. That is what my company Statecraft Systems produces. Rulers and judges, and all the machinery necessary for it.
Hanania is an expert in engagement farming. He’s learned this from Trump: say something outrageous and watch the corrections pouring in. Even better if you include something at least slightly wrong. Well done, Richard! Luckily his is the kind of brand that will flame out, eventually… He doesn’t create anything after all, critiquing only and never creating.
