The real reason there's carrageenan in everything by the way:

@motorhomelabs I unironically believe this. https://t.co/I6wEFEoc9r

@goblinodds Anyway, when Unilever bought out my favorite brand (Ben & Jerry's) they eventually cut corners by adding in a bunch of Carrageenan and it absolutely destroys one of the key microbe species that I sought to foster in my gut. https://t.co/fd6qR4B0qJ

@motorhomelabs Carrageenan is just a gelling agent, they put it in ice cream so they don't have to put as much sugar or fat in it.

@motorhomelabs Huh. I always figured it was about avoiding icing during temp swings in transport. That, and de-contenting the expensive cream for fillet.

@motorhomelabs Blame the farmhands spreading it. The ones that we use to prop up the economy. You know which ones. Hint; they’re not American

@motorhomelabs I’m allergic to it. It causes a reaction best described as going into shock. Severe stomach cramps, shaking, profuse sweating, shortness of breath, and occasionally even passing out. And it’s damn near in everything these days. There’s about 20% of the grocery store I can eat.

@motorhomelabs I've noticed the return of half loaves of bread in grocery stores. Hadn't seen that since the 1980s. Back then, you'd buy a half loaf because the bread would get moldy before your family would finish a full loaf. Bread doesn't get moldy now. Half loaves are for the lonely.
