Throw in all the preservatives and synthetic garbage that destabilizes gut health and you also get food cravings tied to the body trying to fix the gut. Many of the flavors that are 'added' can loosely described as similar to the metabolites the body would need to restore them.

10/ Modern food science created "nutritive mismatch" - when what your tongue tastes doesn't match what your stomach receives. A 2017 Yale study showed that when sweet taste and calories don't align, metabolism gets fooled and hunger regulation breaks down. https://t.co/QQbBWwrQcv

If anything the fad around vitamins is a side effect of all the ways industrial food norms denature the nutrition in our food. We HAVE to add the vitamins in because they either go missing or aren't there to begin with like more natural stuff.https://t.co/yM0Y7xDPH9

Placeholder
UltimApe@ultimape• over 4 years ago

@TuckerGoodrich @cocoadog We do none of these things as a society, because these processes reduce shelf life and make it expensive to process. So we strip and purify, then add vitamins back in afterwards. It's driven by food-as-status & advertising as far as I can tell.

@TheBitcoinPope Part of the reason I am making my own ice cream is b/c people keep fucking it up & cutting corners with additives. We can't even do raw milk right and all the 'experts' that opine on economics of it don't even know how to preserve milk without a fridge. https://t.co/A1egrgFzlX

If you're really into making your own ice cream and don't want dairy. Don't worry, you can milk your own nuts if you want. Someone invented a process to make cheap nut milk and its everywhere now.https://t.co/Q1pldIWsQk

@St_Rev Theoretically you can ferment the milk. I'm personally hoping to see a brand of peaness yogurt hit the market. Silk already has started to branch out into dairy alternatives. https://t.co/9J4NLA8VFZ

I'm going to be making my own peaness yogurt flavored ice cream myself just to try it. If it's good, gonna have a whole line of vegan ice cream cuz I think its funny to brand something "try my delicious nut milk".https://t.co/IRoCShkNEKhttps://t.co/P0tBzAykNG

The last time I was able to see a doctor was back in 2015. The medicine I was given fucked me up and I lost the best job I ever had.Haven't been able to see a doctor since due to my non-24-hour disorder. Now I am my own doctor.https://t.co/6E3cZHjy2C

@no_identd The doctor back in 2015 told me to stop eggs and cut saturated fats.I charted my diet & realized that was dumb. I ate moar eggs and more saturated fats and cut my sugar to lower inflammation. Bam, fixed. I was having fatty liver problems and they were wrong about how to fix it.

Back in 2015 I was wondering if babies in the womb masturbait, as a way to explore (and undermine) assumptions in Freudian psychology theories.https://t.co/tF39VrZTxc

Has anybody witnessed / measured oxytocin in a mammalian fetus in utero? Self soothing behavior such as rubbing or masturbating? #askScience

Keep lying to yourself about how all your problems are genetics, or a lack of will power. Ignore the chronic poisoning of the western gut biome and it's impacts. https://t.co/Sjwnr3wV9R
