I have heard enough grapevine reports of Methylene Blue having an impact on health factors related to infection that it has greatly attracted my interest.https://t.co/TROrxCB4mu https://t.co/3UIcypaMSk

Watching someone play "Rise of Tomb Raider" and it talks about about a phenothiazine drug that is a pesticide. Found a 1937 paper on methelene blue which seems to be a antipsychotic https://t.co/j2EinuAzQw that can induce serotonin syndrome.

This in particular is interesting to me. How is it doing this? Why would light make it act this way? https://t.co/5hiHyzKvLI

Also, there are some very strange reports of Methylene Blue impacting gut bacteria that seem to suggest it's preventing immune system from destroying the gut after a head injury. https://t.co/4QIT92mbKG

This is a strong indication to me that it is doing something fairly significant. But what exactly is it doing? and why does light mediate it effects? If it is acting as an electron donor, does that mean that my gut bacteria are now doing the same? https://t.co/j5whrFu5i8

Reading about potential antifungal action of Methylene Blue and now I'm thinking if there are other stains that have potent abiotic action against bacteria & fungi.https://t.co/HgKxaGVPCE

Reading up on microscopy stains. I knew a bit about this because of researching how scientists look at microbes, but the idea that Methylene Blue has antibiotic and antifungal properties is interesting to me.https://t.co/syOLNYNDBUhttps://t.co/BUEI9wp2C0

I need to figure out why it can cause serotonin syndrome. As 90% of the body's serotonin is made by gut bacteria, there may be something more going on here besides just direct MAOI activity.https://t.co/9vj8cdN1wE

Placeholder
UltimApe@ultimape• over 2 years ago

@seconds_0 @Outdoctrination That is likely because with those other drugs the serotonin is being metabolized into melatonin. So the levels of serotonin actually drop akin to what happens in sleep states. https://t.co/j2Fq2MzSztThis is just messing with their circadian rhythm.https://t.co/N66FpI94YH https://t.co/CUMO2pZkQy
