Having suffered with jet lag for most of my life due to non-24-hour disorder, this makes me laugh. Fast during the flight and drink a little alcohol to put the gut bacteria into a dormant state, then eat breakfast in the new timezone's AM. https://t.co/FMt51laiJy

Some things Iām trying to lessen jet lag: 1) Fast: No food, caffeine, or alcohol before or during. For a flight from LA to Mumbai via Singapore, this means a 33-hour fast. Overeating on flights wrecks sleep quality. 2) Sleep Immediately: Informed the flight crew that Iāll skip meals and sleep right after takeoff. This avoids being disturbed by the flight schedule or service. 3) Blue Light Glasses: to block bright cabin lights and screen exposure. Read instead of using screens to prep your body for sleep. 4) Avoid Alcohol: it disrupts sleep and dehydrates. Skip it completely. 5) Hydrate: Dehydration makes fatigue worse. I consume more water before and during a flight to make up for this. 6) Sensory Control: Use earplugs and an over-ear eye mask to block out light and noise from the cabin. 7) Exercise: Iāll exercise immediately when arriving at my hotel (11 am) to begin aligning my circadian rhythm with the local time and then have my usual breakfast.

If you understand how the gut is involved in circadian rhythm, the "disruption" effect of alcohol can be harnessed to reset their rhythm to align it with the local timezone.Exersize probably helps because it's dumping lactate into the gut to do something similar.

Jet lag, lolhttps://t.co/eryYQeRStq

Your gut bacteria can be stressed by timezone changes, so by puttting them in a dormant state, they aren't "on" for long periods of time.https://t.co/C4jyfdn5rs

"The identification of circadian rhythmicity in gut-associated bacteria is intriguing in light of research showing that the gut microbiota exhibits daily oscillations in its composition."https://t.co/1HwU8nRMYt

if you want to experiment with this, you can use body temperature tracking to guage how the bacteria are active. With Bryan's body temperature being so low, it's likely that his strategies won't work for you.https://t.co/nCnYdS6m3V

I literally wasn't able to get to my disability lawyer because of my non-24-hour disorder and suffered greatly with struggling with jet lag while trying to force myself in to a 24-hour day.So I took figuring this out pretty seriously.

Figuring out the alcohol + fasting trick was HUGE game changer.https://t.co/z9jsXRnKST

@BillStewart415 @tadethompson There's a protocol for treating jet lag assoc, 'brain fog' that is about fasting https://t.co/w4jim8tFeR (and for some, consuming alcohol) in such a way that it resets them. As someone w/ cortisol weirdness & non-24hr syndrome, learning this has been huge. https://t.co/SnQ0DbIUae

The alcohol thing doesn't work for me anymore. It's like my gut just ignores it. lol.https://t.co/KYx0UlTjRh

@goblinodds There's some stuff around jet-lag fixes that involve fasting for a while and syncing the first meal with 'morning'. With the non-24, this was what I would have to do for a couple of days if I wanted to get my sleep to line up with an important event. https://t.co/cxuehCideq

These insights are brought to you by JƤgermeister being on sale again this month, and the local co-op having full fat organic kefir for cheap.I'm drinking it at 10pm to see if it impacts my sleep. https://t.co/DDFEtFZ3e4

I've been experimenting lately to see if I can harbor acetate making microbes in my gut. Neutralizing small amounts of alcohol & turning it into acetate & eventually butryate should super-power my gut health. Butryate producers need lactate as well. https://t.co/cNUkQscgWg

I have no idea what I am dong.https://t.co/B0WmKT6JPz

Gotta get that Honk Shoo.https://t.co/dDbK8TEU6f

DAE measure how drunk they are by if they can masturbate to ejaculation?https://t.co/dBJ8eRYhV2

An interesting correlation I found after the FMT I did fixed my nitric oxide signaling is that the erection turgidity and the impact of alcohol on my sleep seem to loosely correlate. If I drink so much that I can't get hard anymore, my sleep is bad. https://t.co/FVwanmUakd

I will be as Diogenes, masturbating in the marketplace of ideas.https://t.co/ndrMj4DHl6

I now know how much JƤgermeister causes me to vomit. Experiment was a success. Woke up at 7am after sleeping for ~4 hours.Going to go out into the sun. Seems like the sun is good enough to get vitamin D today and it's very clear out :3https://t.co/0reiGLilhL

It seems I chewed 2 of those last night given there are two missing from the packet. Thanks past me for documenting. Also how rude! https://t.co/N8FGZZk4ig

It seems in my drunken haze I decided that it would be funny to fuck with some bacteria & get them to go into a biofilm state at the same time as I had a bunch of anti-biofilm herbs in my system.š¤£https://t.co/8dRbAElUAJ https://t.co/Jaj4DFfSED

Ah, I had this up in another tab.I was thinking about my GF's health it seems.https://t.co/9VClBAqBjAhttps://t.co/BdBVnGF1ra https://t.co/wHyNlEi5mH

Well that explains why the vomit smelled strongly of mustard. I thought it was the curry I had eaten earlier in the day cuz it was brightly orange.Sure enough, the bottle of mustard is moved.https://t.co/Ll0Qtjr1n1

I bushed my teeth with activated charcoal tooth paste earlier. Now I'm chewing on some mastic gum to clean my teeth.https://t.co/RdOBYn3qXJ

Gonna fast until tomorrow morning so I can see if I can reset my gut rhythms. Those stressed fucks are gonna need to eat each other if they want to survive.https://t.co/c9AHFOy7yy

Sorry if I was rude or alarming to anyone last night. I don't think I was, but I may have been belligerent.https://t.co/GUXlLZbHUi

I never claimed to be sane.https://t.co/hYTeU7eqvn

The bears are awake :3https://t.co/0128gABZlV

Everyone trying to look at bacteria under a microscope. What if we listened to them instead?https://t.co/SxtpPUg6zu

Woke up at 7am.Today I will drink some kefir w/ jager while sitting in the sun.https://t.co/6fRB9o6B1o

@Solahmi_ @RogerSeheult "Or does the reality of our seasonal past reveal that our gut microbiome is a shape shifting metabolic organ pulling the strings on our health and well being in a bi- or even tri-annual circadianālike rhythm?" https://t.co/NwtDTA5uTohttps://t.co/FfzWTw1Wih

Time to awaken, gut frens. The bears are out here causing a nuisance, so it's time to rekindle your vital heat.https://t.co/0128gABZlV

@goblinodds @seconds_0 @bryan_johnson Which is kinda the "evil twin" version of him."An evil twin is defined as somebody who thinks exactly like you in most ways, but differs in just a few critical ways that end up making all the difference." (@vgr)https://t.co/JujvJC88KN

I only play games with my life that I know I can win."He wore no rings or fancy things, like other gamblers woreHe spread his money far and wide, to help the sick and the poor"š¶https://t.co/u4OxwvHatE https://t.co/IQL8TXktew

"I have no objections." Oh you had Non-24 too?! I'm not gonna ask how you fixed it lolš¬š© For me it went into remission w/ keto for 7 years. Then after 2 years of aggressively cutting out seed oils, it seems completely gone. I can eat a pure rice diet now and my sleep is stable. Wild that microbiome can do it. Do you have a post where you talk about that?
