"is water h2o" talks about pluralism in science. this is already a radical idea that we don't have today i think we can go slightly further: pluralism of ways of knowing. https://t.co/YXkmbvO8vj

PLURALISM DOES NOT RENOUNCE JUDGEMENT this is the most most most important part. this is where a lot of good empirical people get stuck "oh you want me to believe all this woo woo nonsense?? we'll never learn anything!" no! https://t.co/TGLM4Vywmx

A lot of woo is actually true. We just lack the mental capacity, the frameworks, the language, the ease of articulation, and the consistency of evidence to make it philosophically coherent and scientifically grounded. But we will get there. Disregard culture punishing you for taking this seriously. It's just a social fad that comes from the collective narcissistic injury to the archetype of humanity for not being able to comprehend reality and feeling defensive about it. It'll pass. The mystery is much deeper than culture would have you believe, trust me.

it's also so clear and obvious know. this is obviously true. just need to follow it through and see how much predictive power it has. how much can it help the science on the questions it is stuck on

@DefenderOfBasic The woo is a divining rod. It tells you where the juice is. Instead of trying to prove the woo right or wrong, try to understand what the woo is pointing at. “Do not try to prove the woo. That is impossible. Instead, try to realize the truth.” “What truth?” “There is no woo.”
