A lot of woo is actually true. We just lack the mental capacity, the frameworks, the language, the ease of articulation, and the consistency of evidence to make it philosophically coherent and scientifically grounded. But we will get there. Disregard culture punishing you for taking this seriously. It's just a social fad that comes from the collective narcissistic injury to the archetype of humanity for not being able to comprehend reality and feeling defensive about it. It'll pass. The mystery is much deeper than culture would have you believe, trust me.

@algekalipso do you think it’s worthwhile to focus on articulating and sharing those frameworks? do you think there’s a “problem” in naturalising woo? In the same way that cluster headaches are a problem or housing costs is a problem

@algekalipso the success of science x proliferation of mass literacy and media = consensus reality was flattened to most useful lowest common denominator those at the edges have likely always been very high OOD / woo-in-their-time , but had successful legibility laundering campaigns

@algekalipso science appears to be catching up, yet it will have to employ placeholders for extreme woo that transcend the realm of thought. in some traditions there is the notion of an awareness that is beyond mind, described as seeing

@algekalipso See, this is why we're friends.https://t.co/nTNV8oAhQx

@DefenderOfBasic The woo is a divining rod. It tells you where the juice is. Instead of trying to prove the woo right or wrong, try to understand what the woo is pointing at. “Do not try to prove the woo. That is impossible. Instead, try to realize the truth.” “What truth?” “There is no woo.”
