You can fix this by eating more niacin and promoting natural serotonin production to boost activity in the hippocampus pyramidal cells. The chaos of different memories being inadvertently activated and then filtering thru Broca's area is what most people's 'inner monologue" is. https://t.co/REL1e8gMpP

If you do this AND also promote hippocampal neurogenesis and remyelination, the noise goes away. This is what meditation does and why it works better than lexapro to silence the inner demons of your mind.Reverse the ravages of time.https://t.co/4yLalgaHOE

You'll need to boost liver and bile health to promote better cholesterol function and hormone regulation. If your body can't make progesterone, the microglia won't know to lay down myelin. May also be the mechanism not healing optic nerve damage in M.S.https://t.co/LCN5DfIwxj

However, because natural endocannabinoids are tied intimately to lipid function, your body is going to have enough fats to fuel the brain under natural production.https://t.co/tNGkBPbmbq

When you use cannabis on it's own to modulate electrical activity, the cells get overworked and the toxicity effects can build up. This is partly why mixes of CBD/THC can help some people.https://t.co/4hISdABw5p

A different lens to look a this space is in terms of the impacts of LPS on the hippocampus. LPS is "lipopolysaccharide", which is a chemical used to trigger neuronal inflammation. It's a component of bacterial cell walls. https://t.co/wZ5i0JLrIq

Hitting the cannabinoid receptors in the right pattern will reverse that LPS induced neuroinflammation.https://t.co/3vqtEGuDAO

In a healthy body, lipid function in the gut is mirrored by serotonin production by gut bacteria. The body sees the serotonin; it's got lipids in the system to be able to warm up. Immune cells start to feed on ketones. And so does brain via gut-brain axis.https://t.co/sJjA2onpRl

However, if all you are doing to impact this system is taking an SSRI, you get the activation of immune system but not necessarily having lipid health in a good state. The levels of endocannabinoids end up messing with how the immune cells behave.

In the short term, there'sa good chance you'll see all the same effects of serotonin on your system. Increased wound healing, and mood boosts. Better brain function, lowered brain fog, etc. You've tricked your body into thinking it's got fuel to do vital processes like think.

This is why the body has serotonin removal systems in the liver. The liver is the organ who's actually manipulating the glucose and ketones. It is the one converting sugars and fats, and ultimately regulating bile release to digest fats and starches you eat.

The liver is also responsive to the endocannabinoid system's levels. When the body is regulating lipid function well, there will be times when liver can borrow energy and heal. It listens into endocannabinoid signal to know when do this.https://t.co/KWEc4ET8gw

There may even be a unique pathway tied to anandamide specifically for liver regeneration. This organ is far too complex for me to fully understand.https://t.co/t0DDCKkxHf

When you put all of this together, you can maybe start to see why there are so many studies showing hepatoxicity outcomes of SSRI use. It also highlights a possible cause of some treatment resistant major depression. -> liver dysfunction itself! https://t.co/F8Ph7RqF5k

The idea that a person's liver ends up not working well over time leading to paradoxical depression outcomes? How many people with this are actually suffering from a liver dysfunction from the body over doing itself. The liver never gets a chance heal.

Natural production is going to be via feeding gut bacteria the right set of nutrients to promote serotonin and creating the right niche in the gut to promote healthy bile function. https://t.co/gkzwLv8qtX

This is going to do more than just address the internal monologue. Your brain is going to also have enough energy to heal. Your brain's immune cells are going to work to clear out metabolic wastes. The microglia won't be little shits eating your myelin in your hippocampus.

I treated my treatment resistant major depression using diet (keto) and some fasting.I later figured out it was being driven by years of Crohn's disease causing pretty major gut dysbiosis and challenges with nutrition, and that all of this was also driving my brain issues.

For serotonin:Niacin, Tryptophan, Omega 3, and Vit D.Magnesium (For enzymatic co-factors). Zinc for reasons. Selenium for good measure.Combine with serotonin promoting strains of kefir (that also help with bile via FXR signaling) and they start pooping out serotonin in gut.

The crohn's was driving a constantly Fluctuating immune state and poor mucus production. This was a mix of my actual intestinal lining being damaged, as well as poor production of SCFAs by gut bacteria that would normally trigger goblet cells to make various kinds of mucus.

I kept my Crohn's at bay by avoiding things that triggered inflammation and eating a ton of protein and collagen peptides.I also began experimenting with THC and various TRP receptor activators to see what helped improve my brain state.

After min-maxing for a year or two. I figured out that everything that improved my wellness and brain function was all ultimately liver health adjacent. 20+ years of losing bile (and fats) into the toilet and lack of SCFAs had seemingly caused more damage there than I realized.

I figured this out in 2021, and ultimately fixed it with an FMT in January 2022.Papers in 2023 say we have no idea what is going on here but highlight the same thing. IBD causing liver problems drives M.S. in some people?https://t.co/UQO66gRfAthttps://t.co/146l0PLIWP https://t.co/ViAnMECoSE

@Cathelicidin @GavinGiovannoni Long story short? after about 8years of experimenting, I cured my Crohn's and Multiple Sclerosis by eating dog shit in a pill for 30 days to improve my lipid health and restore gut bacteria that help aid in liver health. https://t.co/B8GQLNT7GZ

Now, not everyone has Crohn's disease / autoimmune genetics So you can't just copy me directly & expect results. But most in the west eventually succumb to some kind of neurodegenerative disorder as they age. And gut dysbiosis correlates highly w/ age related disease. So...

If you want to learn more about my ideas on hippocampus function. I have a thread on bluesky discussing how this approach also cured me of Aphantasia. https://t.co/yP8ZiW9G5M

This entire thread is inspired by learning about Yann Lecun's way of looking at the world thanks to being inspired by some comments by @nanulled https://t.co/8GgLY9WbXD

I don't think in words. When the Aphantasia hit, it makes my minds eye go black; I couldn't even think at all.https://t.co/DOSBxxQ6nJ

@ChrisPalmerMD Would you have guessed the key to unlocking healthy brain energy was a gut microbe pooping out a b vitamin? There's a gene some people have that makes the demand higher too due to impaired enzyme activity. I have it. Makes missing the bacteria even worse.https://t.co/24U22IX6nG

i can't prove this but i suspect this is very efficient something like: imagine running a sequence of operations on data in your ram in one uninterrupted pass before dumping it to storage internal monologue feels like it would be writing to disk after each operation

@pmarca Before covid hit, I was talking with a place in Vermont to see if I could go on a meditative retreat while wearing a bunch of quantified self hardware. I was looking for my 'self' as I had luck with modulating my internal monologue after shifting my gut. https://t.co/ocvQjP5WlR

@dthorson Since then? I can eat plants now.https://t.co/ZQWTNsF2qo

@manticlops The fix is that I am now able to modulate whether it's on or not based on the needs at hand. Its only a handicap if you can't control it. It can be useful for wordcel activities and language processing. Being able to shut it off for shape rotation is also useful.

@mwilcox @SethLargo Our views on how things work limit what we think we can do by lowering the horizon of what we believe we can train. If the brain is a muscle, then we should be feeding it ketones and ensuring it has good oxygen supply to be able to work more efficiently.

@AliAbdaal @rudrakshborana The thing everyone is overlooking is how people with eidetic memory tend to be multi-sensory synesthetes. There's tons of research on how body posture/movement and even scent can be used for memory. We can then reframe these ceremonies as a way to encode and unlock memories.
