indeed, someone and something seems to be taking note. after many, many lost children, we seem to have invented the concept of "mental health" to explain spiritual malaise. it’s not quite right, but in a culture that knows about the mind and not the spirit, it was the next step

@AskYatharth Hmmm very true. I keep going back to this idea of "the closest approximation of Y in X worldview", similar to how some women go for assholes because it's the closest thing available to a man with integrity The spiritual blindspot has many consequences, though I'm not sure

@AskYatharth I can see many of them yet, but the whole thing surrounding mental health as some type of "bug" in your mind, and not a series of dysfunctional relationships between individual and society/other people is something I think about a lot.
