i began to be real suspicious of the word "peak experience" because my only association with it was with the kind of spiritually homeless, substance dropping, improvement-as-escape hungry ghost kind of crowd

but the way @btomtom5 and The Emerald Podcast talk about it is opening my heart up to this word again a peak experience is just a special kind of trance experience. children and adults naturally go through them in the process of change. humans need them as much as any other

in the natural course of development, there are peak experiences, trance states of experiencing change, and also the slower bits of returning to our lives, making room for what happened, infusing

what i was thinking as "peak experiences" wasn’t so much peak experiences as a particular reaction to them a kind of fixating on them https://t.co/fIBvmEfcgn

which i understand, i had that too. but my ordinary life is better now. i like it. i can relate to peak experiences as just part of the inhalation and exhalation of my life some smart people like to call that punctuated equilibrium

i can have more love of the ordinary, and that actually includes having peak experiences. it’s the most ordinary thing for them to happen. in a full life, it’s more ordinary for them to happen, then not

peak experience are simply an exhalation of the body and instead of holding my breath, i can follow them with a gentle inhale huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh welcoming with receptivity, what happened. giving ground, for whatever came alive, that needs attention

in retrospect, my singing lessons were pretty consistently peak experiences and very lovely practice in relating to peak experiences in a receptive, grounded way https://t.co/K24UjUA6EG

in my singing lessons, we always start and end with a gong we start with making a bubble, for a safe exploration, and we end with remembering, whatever happened, whatever needs to stay with us, will stay with us in our bodies. we need to do nothing

first, we stumble into the blooming well of fatherhood. inner fatherhood. the earth’s fatherhood. the good father. the father that was always there we cannot find our way back reliably. but soon we begin finding little wells everywhere. we make the walk daily

eventually, the concern becomes more with the movement than with maintenance of any given state to avoid states that might require us to grieve https://t.co/BBnxjYmbWQ
