Itâs shocking how little wealthy families spend on education. Whatâs the ceiling, 100k a year per child? 200k? If you want an ultra elite private school and a tutor or two? No one plans years of systematic intercontinental journeys or optimizes acres of land or hires Aristotle.

@mbateman I think it comes down to âpeople donât know whatâs best for their kidsâ. More charitably âare humble in assumingâ, less charitably âare cowards and/or lost themselvesâ. Also less charitably âusing their kids to compete for statusâ

Yeah. I donât think the amount of wealth poured into an education is fundamental at all, to be clear, vs. how an education is approached. But for those who can throw money at it, for better or worse, itâs sociologically interesting how low the spending ceiling is. https://t.co/0U9sU4E2QX

@mbateman Some people do intercontinental journeys with some degree of intention, see world schooling or stuff like this thatâs burgeoning https://t.co/NvbC3TTXyO

@mbateman most wealthy families are also subject to not wanting to seem too weird ah you get to that https://t.co/pV79cNVDlJ
