it’s nice to hang around socially anxious people now that i’m less socially anxious and realise, “oh, i see a part of me!” and “oh, i like them anyway!”, like i was likeable all along

@NLRG_it i was with a bunch of fellow lite-autists at a meetup once was when a super-autist showed up completely oblivious to social cues, and everyone was so gracious and kind to them regardless, i found that to be such a gratifying experience

i think people-pleasers sometimes have this illusion when they’re hiding parts of them that they’re succeeding? as if people can’t see it. my experience suggests it’s the opposite. people can see it, but like you anyway. people aren’t expecting perfection https://t.co/fWP4JeiE6i

i still feel that way about dating. that i have to be perfect, and what other people are looking for is perfection

people are largely looking for other real people to be in relationships with, mostly because the those are the only sort of people that exist
