hot take: we shouldn't encourage young adults to be ambitious. at least not until they've had at least a few years to explore themselves, til they've built some legit awareness around power dynamics, and til they've built love infrastructure https://t.co/7mn87QN3bv

We could use a lot more healing and re-education on both fronts. Awareness wise, assault seems pretty universally agreed upon as damaging. Popular/attractive people abusing their power (being mean) seems like an accepted, ingrained part of society https://t.co/ozQnSuBqEn

was inspired by/reminded by this talk on the pricelessness for an individual to have the space to fuck around and find out https://t.co/x2lAMWA6SW

and wanting to pair that with the other side, which is when people with deep inner child wounds and lack of awareness around power dynamics get power, the only thing they can do is perpetuate the dynamics of the system they understand: the current one - e.g. zuck, musk, etc.

where without the power dynamic awareness, they don't see how the both hurt and are themselves hurt https://t.co/FhHEp7FsXE

and finally, unconscious use of power can hurt people, the very people that you've recruited into your cause that brought you power in the first placehttps://twitter.com/justavagrant_/status/1658250413026492418

so pushing young adults to be ambitious (prematurely) 1) makes it harder for them to explore in beneficial ways especially while young, 2) incentives them to conveniently ignore and not deal with power dynamics issues, and 3) could lead to them living a lonely difficult life
