I learned recently that when a diabetic type II patient goes to the ER for having trouble breathing related to their asthma medication, specifically mentioning their throat closing up... No one looks at their throat and they assume it's Acute Bronchitis.

I figure... that when a patient goes in to the ER about asthma problems and trouble breathing that maybe someone would look at their throat/mouth to check for Thrush?https://t.co/T6TRbJGVBQ

Ok cool. I happened to look in their throat cuz they were still having breathing problems and it was red. And there was fungal colonies all over the sides of the mouth. So did they actually have Bacterial infection/chest cold? Don't know.

It took me 3 seconds to look in her mouth and see the problem and the red in the back of her mouth. Then she went to a clinic and they saw the fungus. Now I have to pray the Mycostatin doesn't dive more interactions with her other meds and hopefully actually works this time.

The best case for this situation is she actually had Acute Bronchitis (they tested for pneumonia and Covid at the ER) and it went away... But that implies they gave her a Candida infection with the meds and is now in worse condition than before.

Mind you, going to the ER was what the asthma medication training she had given told her to do if her rescue inhaler didn't work.No one told her to look in her mouth/throat, and the ER people didn't either.I was asleep.

@literalbanana If I'm right. we ought to expect that depression (which has signature of impaired e-coli in the gut https://t.co/wbieUmJ2ik ) is possibly downstream of a fungal imbalance. Because yeast and e coli can both live off iron, they may be cooperating.

Doctor at ER told me that the photos I took of Candia wasn't candida, and then told me that the risk of her dying from it wouldn't happen unless she was immune compromised. We went to ER because of her having a Hypertensive crisis + her candida flaring back up before her menses. https://t.co/IyLEnNql6P

We modified GLP-1 thru gut bacteria to get her off Ozempic because we already cured her insulin problems after fixing the PCOS and it was making her starve.https://t.co/F2P23RJzmE

She been having 180/95 for a while until we got her off the SNRI and treated the thrush properly.I set up a spreadsheet to track it so we could work on fixing it. Because here doctors are idiots. This is also how we know her body temp has been stable.https://t.co/HuTXqWqJzo https://t.co/KqXT9Ptd7u

Anyway, we got sent home from the ER without anything but an EKG and told to go to therapy and stop treating candida.Thankful for the replacement for her primary care actually listened and recognized a problem.

@OhMalG Mostly she wants to get off them, but the doctors won't help. The either gaslight her about symptoms or try to get her to switch to a different drug.(part of us moving is to be able to get better help / space to do it safely)https://t.co/x4C6prZMfs

Had a scare with BP going to 150/100 back at the beginning of the month. Spent hours trying to figure out what it was because this seemed sudden and out of the blue.Does anyone recognize this fungus? This is not normal for cheese. https://t.co/sGekaDIhDb

She responded well to cinnamon, ginger, chamomile and nettle. It was really obnoxious -> her whole body was twitching /undulating like she was possessed. And of course she eats cheese shortly before going to bed, so it was a couple of days of not sleeping well for me and her.

For context, she typically eats cheese and peperoni between 9pm and 12pm and the extremely high BP doesn't occur until around 5am-7am.(Yes, she has a very weird sleep schedule.) https://t.co/uQgB0uLNC8

Going thru history (we've been taking regular BP samples using a google sheet for almost a year now), it may be that every time she is having 90+ Diastolic and tremors in bed, it may have been from the cheese??!!! fuck.I logged this on bluesky as well https://t.co/L34PiwC3vF

Will know if we successfully eradicated it in ~3.5 weeks. This is approximately when her Luteal Phase peaks Progesterone and Estrogen. Not sure why but that is when the candida flairs bad.

Also got a second opinion (blood test) and her thyroid levels were fine and she doesn't need synthroid. So of course insurance won't cover taking more than 2 thyroid tests a year. We're going to need to pay out of pocket to see if our interventions work.https://t.co/cI4OLpTWbd

Thrush/Candida has basically gone away after doing more fasting. The FMT + diet changes + being off of all the drugs has helped her body fight it off and it was no where near as bad as before.

Going to begin weening GF off of one of the blood pressure meds (amlodipine) on the 8th. Doctor said the dose was low enough that it should be fine to just discontinue without tapering.https://t.co/dFo42gybWj

@Grimhood One of the big reasons we're aiming to get my GF off of some of last two meds (blood pressure meds) is because of interactions with licorice. She had a bag of real licorice candies and it made her quite ill. Sure enough, impacts are higher than reported https://t.co/uZ9aFQHi3M
