the story is thus is: humans band together to survive. surviving by yourself outside this group is nigh impossible. we become relevant to this group of humans, so they participate in keeping us alive, through jobs, homemaking, family https://t.co/P7pzqTVrjP

i keep trying to ask this question. i’m sure why. i don’t think it’s trivial one https://t.co/MHHXFsnren

> is it the sense that humans shouldn’t have to earn the right to live it’s precisely unlearning that should who gives me that right? that right is not trivial to grant. nature doesn’t fucking care. nature kills you https://t.co/VV5z2D121y

someone with *love* and with *competence* (both) has to give you these things otherwise none of this means shit someone has to have both love, but also the competence to give you these things right aren’t free. competence is necessary

you are dependent on others, you think you get rights because you asked daddy, because you cried moral foul there will always be an “other” kind of person who actually runs or provides in the world https://t.co/NKBWJDd65j

what happens when *you* have to provide? when you realise will kill you otherwise? you realise you need competence to retain the (functional) right to change anything in the world you need the competence to effect your kindness https://t.co/OIB4A3AjsL

it’s one thing to care about your child. it’s another to care about them competently it’s one thing to send your friends lots of gifts. but there is also a kindness in being a *competent* gifter being competent at taking care of people

away from love, towards a concrete notion of care https://t.co/LWSJ4YJGvs

the world doesn’t magically rearrange around you if you are the good guy, and want it the mostest, and so on (though if enough people agree you are the good guy, and you want it a lot for a long actionable time, it might) https://t.co/uRIK0bHbwR

I wonder if this is some sort of narrative poisoning, where people watch movies and hear stories where the hero wins because he has the biggest heart, and and he wants it the mostest, and so the universe will rearrange itself for him because, gosh darnit, he's a really good guy

“when did you realize that you were never going to be rewarded for being a good boy like you were told to be?” https://t.co/SffjNgGq4K

this is exactly what i was trying to convey! if you think none of it has to be earned, everything is a resentful entitled withholding of resources from the “man” https://t.co/4qSbl26rBa
