Lots of thoughtful comments and questions. I was on the fence, honestly. Her distress was a shade above mild, and *probably* she would have been totally fine even if she fell upside down. I intervene ~50% of the time in this sort of case but didn’t here. It worked out: https://t.co/CuxQqPTVLA

This lets her have both experiences where I offer preemptive support and experiences where it’s riskier and more post hoc, and we can both learn from both and adjust. I worry about falling too quickly into a pattern when I’m not sure, so I try to randomize a bit.
