ashamed to admit ive never gotten that much value from my note-taking apps twitter on the meanwhile keeps astounding me with the compounding returns of having written threads on a topic before

The lie of the second brain is your knowledge is somehow safe. It is never safe. It will always rot, and you can never not rely on your poor, messy, biologically evolved first brain.

there are all these Note-taking courses and strategies about how to avoid this creating discipline and tactics but holy shit, it sounds like plugging a hole with cheese curds and never being totally certain if it will work i was never going to happy with that

A public Roam is better, because you can link to it. But it’s still not the same as Twitter, where it’s literally being put in front of people’s eyes.

there's something very powerful about using twitter as a knowledge management tool bc it co-entrains you with the rhythms and sensibilities of a group, its organic beyond any systems you can implement on note-taking apps
