if you say you're ambitious, but you don't have a body of work you can point at, you should STFU and build the body of work first. even if it's a bunch of notes and drafts and crappy prototypes or whatever. code your apps, write your plays and poems. I will die on this hill.

One year later: It got me a scene, friends, relationships, mentors, most of my leading-edge ideas, a base of people ready help, work with, and love me, a base of work I can point people to and build on for the rest of my life. I was languishing before, I have to admit it.

A public Roam is better, because you can link to it. But it’s still not the same as Twitter, where it’s literally being put in front of people’s eyes.

@eigenrobot some people have difficult circumstances and they have to make trade-offs because of family, etc but when a person has rebellion in their spirit, in their heart, you can fucking tell. you can see the fire in their eyes. they will nurse the flicker of the flame to their deathbeds
