I once spent a day intensely speed-reading several hundred pages of the best of local Reddit and what I found was that there are lots of people who are smart, perceptive, articulate, but afraid and/or unable to use those skills to reorient themselves into a position of joy

A lot of smart nerds have been in “conceal, don’t feel” for a very long time I’m still reeling from how it was Wordsworth’s poetry that got JS Mill out of his despair a lot of people are underexposed to the art, literature, music, poetry that will realign their hearts https://t.co/guzmohEJw6

there is a kind of emotional literacy you can get just from watching your favorite movies and listening to your favorite songs and really feeling the feelings, really reflecting on how it describes the interiority of your life https://t.co/BRzlSFBh9W

what were the movies, books, stories, games, songs, that moved you deepest when you were a kid? I strongly recommend revisiting them, feeling the feelings again, and allowing those feelings to help illuminate the psychic cave of your subconscious, to see the writings on the walls https://t.co/lVurOfKq5H

@visakanv I think my ideal state is an oscillation between sincerity and irony. Many people have been overwhelmed by irony and don't think they have social permission to be sincere. But when we find ways to route around the cringe, the sincerity flows like honey.

When I was a kid, I was brought up in a Hindu household. I went to an Anglican kindergarten. I had friends who were Muslim, Buddhist, Taoist, Christian, Sikh. Heartland Singaporeans can be all-embracing, praying to gods from multiple religions at the same altar. Maximim coverage! https://t.co/Wg0cQvq3fC
