some jokes are only harmless as long as the parties involved are too powerless to do anything in this strange sense, praising your friends overmuch can function as a sort of status regulation again not really an issue for people who aren’t interested in outsized growth

part of the responsibility of power is that you should no longer joke about how you would wield it irresponsibly eg “you’re fired” can be funny between colleagues of the same power, or from an intern to their boss, but almost never the other way around

if you do this (compliment rigorously) people ACTUALLY become more powerful it might not seem like much, but it adds up people develop increasing clarity and precision about what they’re good at people actually become hotter, smarter, more effective tricky & dangerous stuff😜

bc most people are living in a sort of cloud of hallucination and bullshit, cultural hangovers, all sorts of vague fog I’m not claiming to be free from that, far from it but even like 5% less fog can lead to better decisions the hero’s journey is about seeing clearly thru fog

💡🚨fuck, this is what my book is about!!!!! 🚨 💡 I knew I was close I knew it I felt it in my stomach https://t.co/V7khYu1Oqs
