ironically, one of the great tragedies of being a celebrity — which literally kills some of them and drives many of them mad, into escapist addictions, etc – is that you become basically a zoo animal, where everyone sees you but almost nobody Sees you https://t.co/dLo4S78PzP

this is why people want to be famous- so they can be perceived and loved so deeply

@visakanv what do you think could counteract that? as you gain increasing status and celebrity yourself, what's your gameplan for staying sane?

@visakanv I want to be the kind of friend that when my friends succeed and become famous they can come to me and know I will be real and honest and loving with them in the ways they need

@tasshinfogleman make friends with people like Zane Lowe who are clearly committed to seeing the people underneath https://t.co/fQjJtWwP7N

kanye was talking about louise wilson but really what I’m paying attention to is zane- how he’s able to make artists feel so comfortable and safe, to gently nudge them in such powerful ways https://t.co/jumMftmCBk

@visakanv I recall an interview with Obama that I can't find where he talks about how everyone talks to him as if he's Obama. So everyone is extremely nervous and fake. And he can't even just say "chill out it's fine" cos that has all it's own expectations. I'm paraphrasing heavily here.

@NathanpmYoung fun case where Seinfeld is someone who can partially relate: https://t.co/3NzFJS6wdR

The thing I really enjoy about this exchange between Obama and Seinfeld is that you can see that they’re both very curious people, intellectually rigorous, each dealing with unavoidable filter bubbles, and each recognises that the other person has a valuable perspective https://t.co/rGQGfv0f5b
