my experience of of social/cultural as I progress on my journey has led me to revise some beliefs – I’m increasingly convinced that anybody who achieves “success” past a certain threshold *has* to have some sort of inner psychological sanctum, be religious almost

interesting thing here is that... I think- if you are moderately/averagely unhappy, this actually does work as a sort of defence against being exposed to the *most* miserable/angry/grumpy people https://t.co/IyqIkEKjd1

thinking on it more the sanctum/altar idea probably only applies to people who are very sensitive. you could presumably also sort of... be very insensitive and just barrel through things. but there’s still a central narrative there even if it’s clunky and childish

thesis: all conflict is narrative conflict antithesis: not true, all conflict is resource conflict, read history synthesis: narrative is how humans decide to allocate resources? conquering tribe tells itself a story that other tribe = Other

“socIoCultUrAl HomEosTasIS” yea I mean I’m not particularly attached to the phrase- how would you describe the phenomenon where people police other people’s behavior? I guess you could say social policing. Thanks social cops for keeping our streets safe from weirdos having fun! https://t.co/rafOBAkgGT

@visakanv I don't understand Why would this be so? Because the most miserable people seek out the company of exceptionally happy people? Or did you mean the most miserable people spend their time targeting publically happy people?
