There are two main components of the course: Studio: in which we'll be designing and constructing various projects of various scales Seminar: in which we'll discuss Alexander's four book series The Nature of Order

Awesome musing on Alexander’s 15 properties in regard to a mindmap https://t.co/cUIJHHzjoS

Awesome visual summary from @Mappletons of "The Knowledge Hydrant", an application of Pattern Languages to group learning https://t.co/RNgBZ0lRPw

Application of Christopher Alexander's ideas on centers and wholeness to the analysis of poetry: https://t.co/KGYPIKnG7U And some fun grabs from it: https://t.co/faXHyxkzYe

Center Analysis of a Gingerbread House https://t.co/j0yw89Ycl7

Very cool! Sharing a summary of a Pattern from A Pattern Language every day: https://t.co/XIGWIl3nnP

Chris Alexander would agree https://t.co/Snl3uNaEw3

Alexander says different parts of space can have different "degrees of life". I agree. I describe it as: a field of awareness can implement a phenomenal space with an inhomogeneous energy parameter. Wanna see phenomenal space fully alive? Vaporize 20mg of DMT. Works every time. https://t.co/lWq9IiMEGn

Christopher Alexander on the SimCity reading list!!! https://t.co/4piJgF9YmZ

The phenomenology of structure https://t.co/yhu11tMgWX

from @doriantaylor https://t.co/K4Bi1e6NBv

“When you build a thing you cannot merely build that thing in isolation, but must also repair the world around it… so that the larger world at that one place becomes more coherent, and …takes its place in the web of nature.” — Christopher Alexander (A Pattern Language, 1977)

Example: space design I’ve connected it with architecture + design since studying Christopher Alexander’s embodied process I haven’t quite nailed these down, but the operative forces may be - differentiation of elements - coherence amongst elements - movement through the space

So much yes here, it’s legitimately worth shouting over and over!!! https://t.co/hJvnhqDf1L

Chris’ poetry on Nibras’ lips https://t.co/W6QiwyxPmF

@relic_radiation @DrMylesDC The architectural and design process of Christopher Alexander is rooted in cultivating sensitivity to precise feeling in the body and using this as a means of tuning to the sensory experience of the arrangement of matter

Big ol’ archive of works from Christopher and CES https://t.co/21KXH4oXEG
