I have successfully trained the chipmunks to not be afraid of my voice. The bravest of the bunch (who's coat has more red in it) is also no longer skittish from me wiggling my fingers. https://t.co/IZIzX4s0qG

The smallest of the 3 still isn't to happy with me. Waves their tale and postures a bit upon seeing me. Still goes after the peanuts tho. That one is also bully and chases the others away. They behave like tiny squirrels IMHO.https://t.co/Qf3bgrxXtZ

They seem to be marking as they explore the room. They mark more once they are confident there isn't any more food - time dependent; seems to reflect their 'curiosity' (how often they sniff & stand on back feet)Turns out this is relatively novel behavior?https://t.co/RHOsaZ39l4 https://t.co/ClPQosjn1R

A great lens for this is to look at how organisms manage in terms of stocks & flows. Inputs, outputs, and storage.I learned recently that bears recycle urea during hibernation and turn it into muscle/protein. Urea comes from processing fats. Store fats help them w/ insulation. https://t.co/zaBBRxyCJ3
