I bought a bag of trail mix that has probiotics in it.There were about 40 bags of the stuff in the discount store. It's a walmart brand. Its Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086,the same strain in GT's kombucha, and In Suja/Tropacana https://t.co/PBurynx0vs

Kevita uses Bacillus Coagulans "LactoSpore" MTCC 5856 derived from Cranberry Seeds. I can't find out if there is a human derived strain of Cougulans, but there are a tons of different seeds that use variations of it to protect themselves; its fundamentally a soil bacteria.

"KeVita Master Brew Kombucha (owned by PepsiCo) heat pasteurizes its kombucha but adds the well-documented probiotic strain Bacillus coagulans LactoSpore MTCC 5856 afterwards, enabling it to claim 'live probiotics' on the front of pack."https://t.co/oCqBwWgSHx

AquaVitea never responded and I can't for the life of me find any reference to what bacteria they use. It tasted like an uncarbonated skunked beer with a bit of lactic acid. https://t.co/u27ESXWDmE

@AquaVitea Hey, I'm trying to to find out what strains of bacteria are in your tea. Other brands seem to have a mix depending on which kind. I can't seem find that information on your website. Is that something I can find online?

Some people drink pepsi, some people drink coke. The illusion of brand choice makes this whole thing a joke.https://t.co/zEGfOd03Qp

This is a proxy war between pepsi and coke. The oncoming storm: a brand war over breast milk. They'd rather have you drink carnation.Soon to be "science approved" -> fortified with stuff that grows in vaginal bacteria or defecation.https://t.co/Da0CdLbONG

Muh sugar prices are too damn high."The most straightforward of these is the higher prices borne by retail consumers of sugar, as well as intermediate users, ranging from bakers to confectioners to soft-drink makers."https://t.co/eRFC9Wi6bT

Thankfully, Suja is not actually owned by coca cola, they're just partnering with them to 'democratize' the best juice.https://t.co/Cqrw4AtGLE

@St_Rev There was a good essay in NPR the other day about a new exotic method of getting the most peaness. Apparently you can milk many nuts to get different flavors with peanut milking being the highest protein. https://t.co/SDByje959J

@angryFatNerd In marketing: "democratize dna information" basically: "disrupting pricing / availability by building a service" https://t.co/1k8SsSt1kf

I find it interesting that the former president of Coca-Cola ended up becoming CEO of Juicero. Was he trying to get ahead of the supply chain for juice?https://t.co/n5VLcI2vjf

Strangely, another reference I have about apples is also from smithsonian. It talks about how our beloved children's story of Johnny Appleseed's spreading of apple trees is actually because he was sowing sour apples to make booze.https://t.co/43fDLYxTgc

Does anybody know if they're bothering to catalog bacteria found in animal breast milk? This thing seems old enough that they might not have thought to do so, much less consider the ramifications of sterilizing it for long term storage.https://t.co/O0z0C8IyxQ

I'd bet money that captive animals have different breast milk microbe species than wild ones for much the same reason that we see variation in human milk production, but further compounded by the forces that lead to this effect: https://t.co/MgwOq2NfMJ

I can no longer recommend @huelusa. latest version is going to contain "kombucha powder" and that mass produced 'Bacillus Coagulans MTCC 5856' that is similar to 'Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086' that is in everything these days.Literally competes w/ bacteria I want in my gut.
