First day on the job and I managed to connect a chain of thinking about autism that spans the immune system (T Cells, B Cells, NK cells) down thru a series of associations that ended up on the Potassium ala ion channel theory. https://t.co/iY9U9Mf0WX https://t.co/kjyTBx0RTg

Making good on my commitment on working toward the future, only wanting a Basic Income; after years of struggling while researching at intersection of autism, brains, nutrition, quantified self, I am now formally paid as an independent researcher by a firm. I start the 29th. 🙏

Got a little weird.Bumetanide https://t.co/u7j4lZVjfZ -> a drug that helps with hypertension, by flushing salt and water from the system, ends up improving autism symptoms.Oddly it can also cause impotence and hypokalemia.

Long story short: I now have a list of pathogenic candidia speices that may show up in brain, spinal fluid, blood, saliva, and fecal matter. Varying depending on salt intake; possibly playing a role in the link between blood pressure, diabetes, and autism ala oxygen homeostasis.

Tomorrow I try to make my brambly mess of connections into something that could actually be publishable as a sort of medical hypothesis.

Fun side effect: I have a bunch of genes related to 'age related macular degeneration' that i'd have to look up and see if they impact ATP processes somehow. I might be able to use that train of thought to prevent my eyes from failing later in life.https://t.co/KcFocUB70b

I'm going to wash my face with a natural source of sapponins, followed by dousing it with apple cider vinegar to target what I think is a chronic yeast infection causing beard dandruf, and then afterward coat it in ghee to reduce inflammation.I am turning into a yoga mom.

Found some some rat studies that show correlations between brumetanide and potasssium channels affecting the gut, https://t.co/J0tfRIo0XT

Bumetanide is limited by fluconazole. Fluconazole and nystatin seem to have dose dependent effects on the intestines in rats.https://t.co/RFnGd4cQwV

and found a bunch stuff suggesting fluconazole might cause hyperkalemia in rare cases (e.g. https://t.co/KFphJmf5No), as well as Bumetanide being known for renal potassium loss causing Hypokalemia https://t.co/v7nthz4Fls

So... I need to learn how our body maintains sodium+potassium. (this may explain my weird leg cramps despite high potassium)Potassium is part of sodium-potassium ATPase pump and is vital for the way our body manages energy.Wild: if there are gut microbes that fuck with it.

I hate twitter. I can't find my other thread on oxygen homeostasis.Note to self: https://t.co/K7MBFWLdgn

My resent focus on mTOR and TRPV etc is because of how changes in my body seem to reflect thermogenisis and metabolism that seems to be associated with insulin management and hibernation/low oxygen states in bears and squirrels. It might involve longevity, but that's secondary.

@robinhanson When switching to a diet similar to keto to improve autism associated brain issues I also made sure to increase my salt intake proportionally. I suspect many muscle fatigue problems people is low sodium thru increased bile acid production and elimination. No one talks about this.

I found a hypothesis that the reason why autistic kids are low on potassium is because their faces are always clenched. I laughed a bit at a that.I wonder if electrical stimulation of muscles uses up ATPase https://t.co/icDhLYCKbY

"We hypothesize that there are common autism-causing genes that affect early brain development and simultaneously the facial phenotype." is fascinating, because I already know we can detect (a subset of) autsim using facial recognition due to tendon and face shape.

So "Facial Phenotypes of prepubertal boys with autism spectrum disorders as a cause of hypokalemic sensory overstimulation" by Yuval Levental is in the space of being interestingly wrong. He's seeing something, but I think his model of 'why' is a misapprehension.
