Has the Industrial Revolution and its consequences been a disaster for the human race? https://t.co/28ihvD0Z7F

Imagine believing truth can be inferred democratically by way of rational postulations of facts & debate. Certainly won't devolve into bunch of concern troll rule lawyer'ing to support alternative model of reality. Or naive models winning by default.https://t.co/HQ1rEbjr1g https://t.co/XK1oMSLFuQ

I'm only here to shit on the idea of rational debate as a game for rich people to signal their IQ by showing who's more rational.https://t.co/gHR1BANOEkhttps://t.co/jh8u3vLgqh

When is it rational to be irrational?https://t.co/562lfkIZ7L

RAW's Maybe logic is just Bayesian reasoning applied to models themselves. Error bars of thought.https://t.co/SRtAa3YW6A

I just don't use words you do.Error bars? Chaos? Quantum Physics?"But it's random variation around a signal, a true signal, and when you add all of the random variation on each side of the true signal together, you get closer to the true signal."https://t.co/pBrodP9afB

They called it Syllogistic logic because later intellectuals called it silly.https://t.co/tLi1lpr16u

If you study the nature of metalogic for the sake of exploring how logic is used and abused to signal prestige norms under debate theory, is that metametalogic? Is that illogical?https://t.co/NYQLh7VzHR

I mean one of the things Kialo is advertising is a version of a Pascal's Mugging! The people whom are most willing to enter in this debate would be those who are ideologically driven, and so their advertising is effectively filters for biased opinions. 😂https://t.co/FvNWo7LspQ

If you seed your debate platform with ideology signaling games and memetic infohazards, your community is going to be full of bias. The incentives itself are rigged. But they can ignore that because "we're promoting rational debate".jpg

It also assumes greatly that these areguments are taking place in a vacuum, but in reality their advertising is acting as a filter. Its the same kind of failure is thinking that lead to the Milgram Experiments and Stanford Prison Experiments being biased.

The kind of person who clicks on Kialo's ads is either a troll or driven by their emotions over a topic. You aren't going to get clam rational debate if you seed via advertising. But you are going to get a massive growth and appease investors. Metagaming.https://t.co/Z5f2pbu90f

This mechanism only works if you're not biasing your community full of other trolls and emotionally driven individuals.https://t.co/ipIiCiYxMj
