DIY soylent, but it's targeting people's microbiome. I had this idea before. even talked about it to @AlexTheChemistWould go along well with @seedhealth as a subscription service.Though the DIY option is to make it yourself like how people grow their own supply of cannabis.

*touches the earth*A great battle happened here."Moreover, storage of stool samples at room temperature for more than 3 days is not advisable." 🤔https://t.co/2Ej9K6Iogi

"Elevated faecal calprotectin indicates the migration of neutrophils to the intestinal mucosa, which occurs during intestinal inflammation, including inflammation caused by inflammatory bowel disease." neathttps://t.co/sH276ihh0l

Cool! Someone's already working on exploring this."The hypothesis of the study was that levels of fecal calprotectin could predict failure, while fecal indole levels could predict success in in preventing recurrence after FMT."https://t.co/FMpIs9iESx

"Fecal indole has been used as a marker of a diverse intestinal microbiome with physiologic levels of intestinal short chain fatty acids and butyrate as well as anti-inflammatory cytokines associated with improved intestinal barrier function"Butyrate tho.

"this paper presents an approach to stool analysis using headspace gas chromatography and a single metal oxide sensor coupled to artificial neural network software."https://t.co/TdTkcKz7hE

"Why does a lot of indole smell like feces, but a little bit smells like a flower? We don’t know for sure—but it seems that when scent hits your nose in large concentrations, it binds to a wider range of receptors than it does when only a trace"https://t.co/fukkqkPcwc

"I know you'd like to think your shit don't stank, butLean a little bit closer, seeRoses really smell like boo-boo-ooh" 😭https://t.co/pOPi6LDvOV

"major scent compound that plays a role in these interactions is indole. It is the most prolific nitrogen-containing volatile found in the petals of flowering plants and it is biosynthesized and emitted from the flowers of over 30 distinct plant families"https://t.co/jFXPDH09No

Takeaway: Some flowers literally smell like shit, and bees use the variation in indole production as part of their distinction between different pollen producers.https://t.co/ExwKmaUJLb

Accidentally answering my own questions.https://t.co/Z5C9I3L0lY

A new and interesting question: are bees selecting for buytrate production by targeting flowers with prebiotic compounds - using scent to differentiate between bacterial and fungal waste products?https://t.co/QnYcTtJRFh

When my nose was chronically clogged and I couldn't smell anything for years, the only scent that seemed to work it's way thru to my consciousness was really strong flowers, fecal matter, and rotten milk.https://t.co/cazU4q3RxW

"This kind of “sewer epidemiology” is increasingly being used to take the health pulse of cities – and even monitor the health effects of major economic events." 🤔https://t.co/YOEgvLVyAg

Historically we had a thing where people would sample royalty's urine to test for diabetes ('honey urine'). I wonder if there was a ever a job to smell sewers to detect for health issues. Miasma theory? Sewer Gas?https://t.co/BPKx29YrcZ

Seriously though, did @tferriss literally bring in a scale into the bathroom, or was he just using the 'birstol stool scale' to 'measure' his poop? I read 4 hour body a while ago and I might have came away with the wrong impression.Words are hard.https://t.co/503o4Opuf9

Interesting side note: the fluctuation in indole and calprotectin in that Crohn's Disease Fecal Mater Test study also align with my past observations on how ubiome's population based measures are likely not accurate enough to be meaningful.https://t.co/VXiJxNCsN1

"could also help pave the way for personalized microbiome management, in which real-time readouts of the state of our microbiomes—say, from a smart toilet—could tell us to change our dietary habits to avoid illness and improve our general well-being." https://t.co/HZeQj7Nipo

"I mean, you can keep a big closet of poop if you want, but I'm not going in there. Just keep it non-stinky!"I love my GF.https://t.co/u1WftdX14F

Reason number 153 for why I need to live on my own:Wanting to set up a datalogging system to capture pictures to train Deep learning model of my feces, and use it to build an automatic urine diverting system for testing of dissolved solids.https://t.co/FLQeGAe3mW

I joked once how I am a force of nature. I didn't specify what kind.https://t.co/QB2pmPW1Et

People poop in closets all the time!"Water closets are becoming increasingly popular in American homes, but many are still unclear on what the term means." https://t.co/cPcgccFNkh

Maybe we could fix this somehow?https://t.co/zX269LcLLS

"it will require a new state paradigm where the regeneration of a healthy populace—and not just the management of its illnesses for profit or stability—is a matter of species-level biosecurity, and afforded the priority that such a problem demands."https://t.co/x3rpZj84aj

this idea smells like shithttps://t.co/GIW0iW4Bc7

Do you think we could give flies LSD and have a hungry spider eat them?https://t.co/PwOuFqs1TU

GF is allergic to goat/sheep milk now, so I can't live off goat milk. Makes me sad for reasons I can't quite explain. https://t.co/I30mxFK435

It's weird how youtube mixes look different if you open in a non-logged in browser.I wonder what state space it's sampling from when there is no ID'd user. Also, I <3 https://t.co/ZDK64wENK1 https://t.co/L0vnpnavB0
