I geek out a lot about womenâs aesthetics (some guys find this weird, but ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ). In general thereâs this really powerful thing women can do when they embody this ideal of strength - literally wearing armor in some cases. Iâve been curious about the male âequivalentâ https://t.co/V9usXcq04N

âwell men can wear armor too, men literally invented wearing armor,â â yeah, exactly â which is why itâs not as *interesting*. Do you get it? Iâm solving for âhow do you embody an ideal of masculinity while simultaneously subverting the simpletonâs cargo cult caricature of itâ https://t.co/QnzNdpL2jk

I served in the military; Iâm not someone who thinks âoh, men can be soft and weak, it doesnât matterâ. Strength matters. And so does smarts, and sensitivity. What does a real 2019 **warrior-poet-philosopher-king** look like? The perfect man? The ideal? đ¤ https://t.co/eI8Rzp8Jc8

I think subconsciously this has been shaping my own exploration of my own aesthetics, which has been veering into a slightly dandy-ish, âKnight of Flowersâ sort of vibe. Ofc, you still need to be tough if you want to command the respect of other men https://t.co/X6xRLHfxXK

Several of you mentioned David Bowie and you are all 100% correct IMO. If any of this looks âoffâ now, I think itâs mainly because the looks were put together for their time. If you want to embody Bowie, you have to reconstruct it from first principles. But he totally got it https://t.co/bbu4hIGgyj

Another man who I think embodied this in his own way was Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix was FUCKING. He had swagger, he had style, he was oozing sexual energy from every pore, every vibrato and whammy bar wail. I feel like I donât hear non-guitarists talk about him much these days https://t.co/RMbLfJnIst

Yeah I guess aesthetics-wise, âDesi-Bowie-Hendrixâ probably has enough material to keep me interested and interesting for a lifetime. Ranveer Singh is a fellow brown man who I think has his own vibe figured out https://t.co/a8OJRiJ8Av

I was never a big Prince fan, but the man was *clearly* in tune with his own vibe, and I respect that a lot. One of my bandmates said to me once - when heâs performing, it feels like youâre in his bedroom â itâs super sensual and intimate https://t.co/qehSGtcNcM
