I'm rewatching Winter Soldier and it's really still the best MCU movie, I think. Black Panther is amazing for all the reasons, but Winter Soldier goes deep into the spine of several issues that BP didn't have time for. Hopefully BP2 gives us more!

Winter Soldier brings up veterans and PTSD, the losses of war, the problem of encroaching universal surveillance ("you point a gun at everybody's head and call it peace"). Looking forward to seeing BP2 address similar nuances in its own territory

Apparently the recent issues of Black Panther comics really dig deep... really need to get around to reading those. The original Civil War comics were amazing

"HYDRA believes that humanity cannot be trusted with its own freedom" - this is quite plausible motivation for a supervillain/organization. I suppose that's typical fascist motivation? I can see how it makes sense from a species-level survivalist POV

If you try to take their freedom directly, they will resist. So you have to create circumstances of chaos, frighten them into giving up their own freedom in exchange for their security
