There's an interesting bit where a pastor and a police officer calmly help mediate a dispute between two gang leaders after a couple of innocent children died in a drive-by shooting. Generally I think it's clear that people are doing the best they can within the circumstances

The psychology of all the various characters is fascinating. I find myself thinking "everyone is the hero in their own story" and "everyone needs to feel good about themselves somehow" - aren't these obvious? Yet somehow it feels a little surprising to realize it's true

There are definitely many bright, thoughtful kids born into hideous circumstances and forced to make decisions the privileged among us can never imagine. T-Bone seems (seemed?) like a great kid caught up in circumstances beyond his control. It's really sad https://t.co/08l9dNsINe
