Dan and Chip Heath's Made To Stick is one of my favorite books of all time, so I'm very excited to read their latest book, The Power Of Moments. Enjoying it so far, as expected https://t.co/IQPeZa2bQN

The central idea here is that life is experienced in moments, so if you want to have a good experience (whether talking about a date, a job, or an entire life), it makes sense to be deliberate about designing great moments that you can enjoy, celebrate, look back on fondly

"Minimize negative variance, maximize positive variance". Many of us are conditioned to fight fires in our everyday life, making sure things don't blow up. But once we prevent the catastrophies, we tend to move on to the minor inconveniences - when we shd focus on delight

I think a lot about the story in here of how health workers used a sort of "show, don't tell" method to fight open defecation. They showed people that, since insects were landing on shit, then on their food, they were all effectively eating each other's shit.
