Alrighty I've been meaning to do this for years... here's a thread about my daily commute. I'll post in real time so you can also get a sense of the travel time! I haven't left home yet but here's the big picture overview https://t.co/y46oZUy85p

First thing I gotta do is take the lift (elevator) down and walk to the bus stop. Kinda amusing how many crime-prevention and security-related posters there are everywhere, never really pay attention to them. (First pic is view from outside the lift) https://t.co/rbgcjx6uCs

Bus stop... I've spent so many hours here over the years. The bus arrives, I get on. Yes, I have an unnecessary amount of money in my EZ Link card. It makes me feel like a baller. A public transport baller. https://t.co/cyHogrARzf

And we arrive at the train station. That ride cost me 77 cents. Check out the cameras outside. And the convenience store, and ATMs. Lots going on here. There's food too. But no time to stand around and take pics (which would have me flagged as suspicious, probably) https://t.co/HJhD9XEETo

Tapping in, going up the escalator... ooh, the train is already here! Lucky day. But that means you don't get to see more of the train platform, sorry. And yes I wear slippers / flip-flops to work. #startuplife https://t.co/UrVoNKTa7B

Oooh-wee, I get a seat. Some people are embarrassed to sit in these seats but I don't care. I'll just give it up if someone needs it more. Obligatory @statement_sg shoutout for the SMLJ t-shirt. #selfpromotion. We're doing Yishun to Bishan on the North-South line https://t.co/Gnjn2Uvc1A

Ok now we're switching from Red to Yellow. I like how the first half of my journey is several meters above ground, and the second half of it is underground. If you came here a couple of hours earlier it would be completely full of people #SubterraneanHomesickAlien https://t.co/YeHaW3CtE5

The train came right on time again! Wow the public transport Gods are smiling on me today. And look I got another seat!! Though seats on the circle line are less precious than the red. Still this is an unusually pleasant commute. My tweets have caught up with my ride now https://t.co/STTXxtXWos

I'm always curious about every single one of those stickers and posters. Who designed them? What was the process? Also just another pic of the environment I spend an hour in every day https://t.co/knEESE2co2

Exiting at one-north. There's a Subway here (yeah, a Subway in the subway, har har) and it always smells so goddamn delicious. One-north MRT used to be connected to Fusionopolis, but that's under renovation now so it's not very interesting at the moment https://t.co/NFBboKv6SD

I had to pee and the toilet was empty so I thought I'd take a few toilet pics. (Is this weird? It's a little weird.) Peep the decorations in the last pic - some1 put in a lot of love and effort into making the toilet a little prettier & homelier. I appreciate u, toilet decorator https://t.co/chjH2p6M7N

Exiting one-north MRT always feels like a mildly transcendent experience. "I RISE!" https://t.co/FYp3eSKg4h

There's a very funny story about this particular road crossing. For YEARS people would cross here, and the authorities would try to blockade it, impede it, etc. They'd put barriers and plants and it would get torn down. Over and over for 3+ years. They finally gave up last year https://t.co/g2XN4UElkF

I have a pleasant walk from the MRT to my office. That's Timbre+, which is now an actual foodie destination. It used to be this really run-down hawker center overrun with crows. Also I hate that "The Future Starts Here" quote. And the font. And colors. So dated, very 1999 https://t.co/nYyLE7m6Am

Just some #blk71 details. It does contribute to the scrappy startup vibe. @hellocandybar what up https://t.co/5EfesYe0Pr

@hellocandybar More walking until I get to the lift. #blk71 used to be an industrial building, which is why it still has heavy cargo lifts (and generally has a bit of a dreary structural vibe underneath all the color) https://t.co/m4a5KoBu8y

Going up the lift... here's the view from my office https://t.co/iRLFGjWOvE

And... I'm here! This is my desk. That was my entire commute from home to work. In 6 hours I'll do the whole thing in reverse. As I have done literally over a thousand times. Hope this was interesting to someone! Have always wanted to do this, for some reason https://t.co/u2xKBejx1f
