Let's do a thread about my life through video games! Always meant to write an essay about it but it's impt to me so I've been putting it off https://t.co/OW4pGcM7KU

Prince of Persia II, by Jordan Mechner. Very "Arabian nights". I never got past the Skeleton on the bridge. Great storytelling, atmosphere https://t.co/ffYiGNoc5M

Ski Free, Solitaire, Minesweeper and Space Cadet Pinball – so many pleasant hours just idled away. There are actually "missions" in pinball https://t.co/0tCP9RBrII

Red Alert 1. Fell in love the 1st time I saw the Tesla Coil. Frank Klepacki music was fantastic. Cutscenes in single player: fun. Amazing UI https://t.co/VKh6eOWgWJ

Metal Slug 1, 2 and X – would play co-op with my friends on the same keyboard, our arms crossing. 100s of times. I'm still really gd at this https://t.co/8kwBpNFJD1

never got far with Duke Nukem 3D, but that game had loads of personality, atmosphere... they could never top it. It was for a different time https://t.co/jGDgX8LSMa

Bare Knuckle 3. great "industrial" music, satisfying violence. Throw enemies into pits, beat them with pipes and bats, level up your special https://t.co/9nrqqaovTJ

There are many versions of Galaga (which itself is a Space Invaders knock-off, I believe), but this version by Arnold Pichler consumed hours and hours of my childhood. There were old computers in the canteen of Opera Estate Primary School, and I feverishly worked to get top score https://t.co/UE2TTO6Pmt

Guilty Gear X2. A friend and I got Really Into This Game. GGX2 rewards it – all sorts of complex combos. Music is 💣 Characters are UNIQUE AF https://t.co/UPqOJqwdYz

Spider Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage. Really captured the 90s comic book vibe. Great storytelling. You could summon help. Pre-MCU goodness https://t.co/83ACmFjAFR

Megaman X3 – first of the X series that I played. Also great storytelling, level-up mechanics, customizability, progression. Story's so impt https://t.co/EKlvOh0TNp
