"IYI" - framing of hypocrite, but in terms of status seeking + failed praxis among leaders. Taleb's 95 thesis?Ref:https://t.co/l3cxRnSe8j https://t.co/8Mb0xmP1Pg

Why favor things that don't work in practice? What is the purpose of braincrack? I like this phrasing better:https://t.co/FwdlylWOGr

IYI framing is useful, but IMHo it comes off as too adversarial. Target's leadership as hated outgroup. Ignores systems puting them there.

If you look at any of the responses to Telab's aphorisms, it's littered with people pattern matching against their particular ideology.

Is Taleb right? Probably. But comments seem fixates in the contrarianism: People reifying their demons in a mirror. https://t.co/FTKNwV1Tn6

Taleb is exploring one territory talking about risk, knowledge, and Praxis, but many followers seem to be in another. It's weird to me.

If you pay attention, you can start to see how almost every outgroup ends up demonized in his comments. He's like the ingroup whisperer.

Hard to distinguish between actual comparisons to IYI vs people just thinking it's about signaling outgroup hate + pattern matching/derping.

This is not to trivialize those responses, that kind of response usually comes from a place of pain or frustration. They're just as valid.

More that it's fascinating to me how easily open conversations shift and get interpreted so differently depending on the participants moods.

Taleb seems to be interested in systematic aspects, the set of all IYIs, but most responses seem focused on a person's ingroup's subset.

It's like a live example of this effect: https://t.co/EmEHGMknyrPeople losing the IYI forest for their ingroup's trees. Heh.

Before I looked into his work, I could have sworn he was working a crowd. That IYI topic is an infohazard for ingroup signaling games. Neat.

Did you know that "Skin in the Game" can be rederived by reading Plato's thought experiement on the Ring of Gyges?https://t.co/purS6gHEI2 https://t.co/s5mXGnPE2N
