Once you unlearn your social & dating anxiety, it becomes hard not to notice how anxious many others are. Sometimes it takes fifteen minutes, but you can usually tell from one glance

Some people definitely play dumb and pretend not to be mindreading you when you interact with them

@ChrisChipMonk Sometimes I go to the grocery store or other public place and I am shaken by how nervous and closed off everyone seems. Its legitimately heartbreaking

Its really energetic more than anything particular. The biggest signs seem to be avoiding eye contact, not smiling, just...very keeping to themselves body language. When this happens, I tend to be in a state of consciousness that if they do see me, they end up loosening up a lot and suddenly smiling, but energetically its as if they neither want to see or be seen until that happens

@ChrisChipMonk At times it makes me nervous to meet experienced meditators, I can’t hide how anxious I am. Luckily most of them are also quite empathetic and not judgmental/mean about my “flaws” :)

@ChrisChipMonk What's cool is that the way this seems to work is you stop getting in the way of stuff your body was already sensing but you were too anxious to notice. Reminds me of how @FU_joehudson says that a great way of becoming a good coach is to know yourself really, really well.

@ChrisChipMonk A personal edge for me is not “unseeing” anxiety in others Historically, it’s often felt impolite to see people clearly
