Been quiet for a bit. GF got a massive head cold that went into lungs. Hard to focus on anything when she's coughing nearly non stop in the same room and needs to be taken care of. Her fever broke last night & BP/HR is back to normal so I'm hoping situation will improve.

Shout out to rosemary gladstar's lung and chest congestion tea. 2 parts licorice root, 1 part cinnamon, 1 part echinacea, 1 part marshmallow, 1 part elecampane and 1/4 part ginger. We mixed it with this https://t.co/4dhWe96xHp and it was a big help.

Wasabi and Fire Cider kept BP manageable too, and allowed her to sleep at night, which is the biggest hurdle for her.

Also had a lot of luck mixing dried mullein, sage, and alehoof (Glechoma hederacea) together. Tho it wasn't quite as effective on it's own (needed some warming herbs), it worked to cut down on some allergy responses that made the nose issue so much worse.

When the fever got really bad we also used Ibuprofen. Still haven't found a good substitute for this. We took it sparingly cuz of all the liver health issues she'd been having the past few years.

Antipyretic effect of Ibuprofen didn't kick in until she took wasabi about an hour after so I think i'm on the right track for figuring out what modulates fever and how to avoid needing Ibuprofen.

I suspect if we hadn't ran out of the lung tea herbs we may have not got to the point of a high fever. Lung symptoms were minimal until we stopped doing that.Runny nose going into lungs seems to be her body's favorite thing, so we're going to make sure we never run out again.

Now that she's not coughing every 5 minutes, we're going to follow up with about 20oz of hard cider to see if it clears out her nose like it does mine. We're also going to split a bunch of this stuff which seemed to help recovery last time she got sick. https://t.co/RvaXb8frHt

I got the head cold. Kicked my ass pretty bad. Thankfully it didn't go into my lungs.GF has been improving, but seems to have a slight bit of blood this morning in her sputum. If it is RSV, it might be the start of Bronchiolitis? Or just damage from coughing so much.

She's breathing ok and for all intents seems to be ond the mend but i'm going to be paying attention pretty closely. The blood is only in morning coughing and cleared out quickly after so I don't think its much of a bleed. But any blood is bad gonna take this pretty seriously.

In all of this, we found out the SPO2 meter broke so we'll be trying to pick up a new one today and using it regularly. I'm really impressed with it. Using near daily for coming on 3 years is impressive for a $20 thing from Aldi.

Watching her blood pressure levels skyrocket during the fever phase has been illuminating. Been in the process of weening off her last BP (on pause) so I am paying close attention to these. (first 130/82 was from a sore back). https://t.co/V5OLHlw9cY

Wish the SPO2 didn't break, but I suspect it would also trend with BP like the last two times she got a cold.
