The thing about hard drugs is not just the upfront risks, but the longterm drift error - the changes to your psyche that compound over time. Partying won't make most people weird in their 20s, but by later decades, it's glaringly obvious who has been using their entire lives

This is unfortunately true of soft drugs like weed and alcohol too, but they tend to be less drastic and more individual - they don't hit some people as hard. Coke pretty much wastes everyone in the long run
