I've never met an honest person who wasn't also brave. If you don't practice courage, you end up lying to yourself constantly, to prop up your own ego, and those lies inevitably make life hell for you and everyone who loves you.

@VividVoid_ part of the reason recklessness and achievement are linked, because you don’t need courage if you consistently underestimate risk!

@cxgonzalez This sounds so fuckin woo but I think it's the bridge between the lower and higher vibrations. Something like: - Fear - Shame - Guilt - Anger - Courage - Eros - Devotion - Faith - Joy - Peace - Caritas

@VividVoid_ They say lying leads to animal realm karma, which makes sense, since the animal realm is tied to fear. If you're afraid of telling people the truth, you're subconsciously telling yourself others cannot be trusted. You're setting yourself up to stay scared of others

@VividVoid_ It is true. I never even grazed how much I lied to myself until I got BigMad enough to decide I was going to show courage whenever possible as a rule. Started outside and worked its way inside. Still ongoing and always will be of course, but it is qualitative better than before

@VividVoid_ You can be honest and introverted: if you can't speak your truth, you don't speak at all. Many such cases!

If you don't already know me, I know this from direct experience - I wasn't brave when I was younger and that led to me into all kinds of copes, fables and frauds. I turned things around, slowly but surely, and now I teach a course about courage with @RichDecibels.

@VividVoid_ Eh you can be slightly dishonest to others out of politeness/expediency (white lies) without substantially lying to yourself

@VividVoid_ Wouldn’t an honest non-courageous person just be honest about their lack of courage and have low self-esteem?

@VividVoid_ One does not "practice courage", but rather confronts fear. Courage is a result, not a skill.

@VividVoid_ How would you know either way, if they were too cowardly to speak up. Oh dammit, "Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool..." is a meme stifling growth.

@VividVoid_ @biotranswomyn Ooooof that's such a good reminder. I needed to read this. The Trump Derangement Syndrome is stirring up this reminder heavily. Why am I sitting in my digital panopticon watching my lunatic "friends" spew things I hate and disagree with? Either ignore or be honest to them.
