(Ran into this once at Ardy’s in college on a debate team trip. Employee came out to take our order and said “OK that’s $20.” Me: “$20 and what?” Employee: “$20 will do. I’ll go tell kitchen.” *leaves* Me: “We’re leaving.” Teammate: “What.” Me: “Not eating a stolen burger.”)

($20 goes into the pocket, everyone gets paid as normal, highly likely nobody counts burger patties and reconciles against shipping manifest plus transactions, employee repeats this frequently until discovered or indefinitely.)

(I Googled for representative examples of the signage and have discovered that the “call us” has disappeared from most of it in the U.S. Example for people who might not have eaten at US fast food a lot: ) https://t.co/EYQsTzAx8V
