I’ve thought about this a lot from a different angle - the Jungian one. There is a mother complex known as the “Puer aeternus” devouring mother complex. Peter Pan syndrome if you will. Our society has become the devouring feminine, which attempts to keep the man a perpetual boy. Women have it too - they are called “puella aeterni”. It involves sexuality promiscuity and not adapting to adult life - such as responsibilities - as they are always clinging to the boundlessness of childhood. I’d recommend you look into it. “The Problem of the Puer” by Marie Louis von-Franz is a phenomenal book on the subject.
