I recall when gf and I got together a period where I shared A LOT of my references. It was spontaneous but I think the motivation was to develop shared context so our communication could be chunked. I now get that classical education did that FOR EVERYONE, via the western canon: shared references means chunked comms means you can get (much) further faster. Ofc we don’t do classical education anymore, ergo, context collapse, Tower of Babel like

@nosilverv One of the luckiest things for me was my GF was into Gaia around the same time I was on the chan boards and there as a lot of memetic overlap at the time.Another one that people overlook is comics, both paper and early web. Good cultural Schelling points.
