the real mistake is assuming that people learn "new" information by studying anything, which is false as Plato's Socrates said, we merely recall information we already knew before birth - and some people, of course, have better memories than others

@G1RLFL3SH The Socratic method is less about teaching or learning than it is about manipulatively asserting one person's arbitrary point of view onto someone else. It's nothing but didactry in disguise.

@G1RLFL3SH This is literally true. Aside from stories, there are very few things that a human or any other mammal can learn that it wouldn’t have figured out on its own fairly quickly if simply exposed to the concept, and the exceptions are narrow, like penmanship and maybe trigonometry.
