How I parent in a nutshell: 4yo wasn’t independently getting dressed in the morning Got her a (cheap) vanity, coupled to a new routine of placing her clothes for the next day there before bed, got her excited about this set of things 2 weeks in, it seems to have worked

The routine itself is the crux. But needed some sort of shakeup to get her motivated. My goto mode of shaking things up is to change something in the environment. Now: first thing she sees in the morning is a vanity, which affords a salient surface area for clothes and a mirror.

Simple example but that template— * problem emerges * solution is new routine * routine follows environment, therefore * change environment + change routine —is not exactly a panacea but its pretty core
